Oh, well! After reinstalling 3.3 I just went and tried scrolling songs and… Player 1 with one USB
Player 2 with a separate USB
A lesser man would probably be in tears. Because that’s exactly how I feel right now.

What Samsung drive are you using @Darryl_Townsend ?
@STU-C You’ve mentioned Samsung T7 issues more than often. I used a T5 in my SC5000 days, but that had no issues.
I don’t think 5000s take internal drives do they? So must be a USB stick.
I’d personally format one and reload the full library to troubleshoot but that’s up to the OP If he wants to
I used my original drive that have always worked and the downgrade worked fine. No idea why it wasn’t working with a brand new scandisc usb formatted to eFat. However, I’m still getting the same error when I scroll after about 10 seconds. I unlinked the players and I still get the message on both players with separate drives. Thanks for all your help guys. I have no idea what’s going on and I give up. 5k for new players was not something I wanted to do.
T7 and T5 are external SSD drives.
Ahhh ok sorry Reese, not something I can comment on really as I’ve only ever used USB sticks externally.
@Darryl_Townsend id be doing some more troubleshooting before forking that much out if I were you, but that’s your decision. Formatting the stick and reloading being step one.
I think I finally solved the problem! Many of you suggested it was the drives and not the units or the upgrade. Put yourself in my shoes. I NEVER had any of these problems until I upgraded. NEVER! …so how could it be the drives I thought to myself. Alas, as a last ditch effort I reformatted the drives and everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks, to everyone that took the time to assist me. Forgive my stubbornness for those who gave me suggestions that I refused to try.
Apart from the drives and reformat etc., you should always be able to downgrade if you want to back to previous versions.
Glad it’s working now.
Thank you sir. I wasn’t able to downgrade initially because I was trying to do it from a new clean drive, but when I put it on one of the older drives the downgrade process worked normally. I just blame it on the universe. lol
