Crossfader Denon Prime 4 Plus

I got my brand new Denon Prime 4 Plus today. I updated it and tested it straight away. The crossfader doesn’t work even though I have set the channels to left and right under the channel. I also adjusted the slider on the right for the curve, but nothing happens. In addition, I have no sound when I set the channel to the left, no matter where I move the crossfader

Are you auditioning on the headphones on the CUE or Master? Or from the master output?

I first tested it with headphones using cue and main mix. When that didn’t work, I connected my speakers to the main output, where I had the same problems.

Sounds familiar to me, I had similar issues. If your unit wasn’t brand-new, I would try out this (reasonably easy to-do) fix. Note, this tutorial talks about ‘bleeding’ but this fix also addresses the defective CF assigns, aka the CF not doing anything at all. Took me 5 minutes and now it’s working fine again:

The cross fader of Prime 4 has contact problems and many times it happens that when it is at full left or right it doesn’t make good contact and if you move the crossfader slider a little you hear sound that you shouldn’t hear. Many times it is not necessary to replace the crossfader. That’s how I fixed the flaw, and now it’s rock solid. But in your case, I would simply return it (and of course tell the seller why, so they can service it).
