Cat out of the bag?! Prime GO+

It would be great if they’ve added mic EQ on the settings screen.

They did that on the mpc one plus as well. But there they replaced the Ethernet with an WiFi chip. The Go has already that, so it could be true that they got rid of the Ethernet.

I mean on a mobile device like the go I can understand it, but still what are the real cost benefits

What a missed opportunity by Denon… I wish they listened some of the features we requested on this topic Denon Prime GO 2 (Suggestions)

This isnt a Prime Go mk2 though, its merely a + version of the mk1, which would point to incremental changes rather than radical.

Yeah, you could say that Denon are “doing a Pioneer”. Slightly different name, a paint job and an insignificant additional feature.

At least no mention of stems this time!

I get the point, but I mean, selling this ‘new’ + model which only brings the chip for Amazon Music is completely pointless from my perspective.

They could simply release an upgrade adding some of the requested features (which many of them makes lots of sense for this particular piece of kit) and get even more ahead from AT competition. Even adding a 2nd USB A slot could be a massive improvement, but I guess it’s too much…

They are releasing an upgrade with added features though?

Heard mention of a 25% increased battery capacity - will see later on If that is the case or not.

I think the NDA is lifted at 15:00hrs (UK) … or what’s left of it :grimacing:

Its pretty much just a DA at this point lol.

“play from hdd”… thats new!

a Prime Go from which an Ethernet port is removed in exchange for an Amazon chip should rather be called a Prime Go - than a Prime Go + in my opinion.

I am disappointed tbh, I have a buyer waiting for me to sell him my prime Go, and I wanted to buy the new one. But removed lan port, no usb c charging, no extra usb-a, feels like a downgrade.

Well spotted. “Upgraded battery life” also sounds nice.

Without these two things, I would have been also quite disappointed, tbh. Removed LAN port in exchange for Amazon Music could be hardly called ‘upgrade’. With a new SATA slot and a battery life of maybe 5-7 instead of 3-5hr, it’s a neat Plus upgrade (but nothing beyond that, of course).

Maybe the “improved” battery life just comes from there being no LAN circuitry to power. :joy:

@PKtheDJ

You should be an engineer at Denon

I’d be interested to see a comparison between the PCBs of these Amazon equipped devices and the older non Amazon ones.

Where is this mysterious Amazon chip? What does it look like? Is there an empty space on the PCB of the older devices?

I don’t understand this choice of colors for this new version.

It seems that it takes up the visual identity of Numark products, many of which use a gray color. It’s a rather strange choice because it has no consistency with the rest of the Denon product range, which are all black because people often look for a form of sobriety on Denon products, which is less the case with Numark.

Remember how much the original SC5000 and Prime 2/4 were considered toys because they weren’t sober enough.

I don’t really know what the thinking is behind the path taken here.

Too many unanswered questions, I’d be curious to see it too.

I think more would have been made of it if they added a HDD/SATA slot. I would personally read “play from HDD” as you can plug in a USB HDD.
