It looks ugly af, but rejoice, at last they had mercy and added a SD slot on the back, something not even the >2000$ XZ or Opus offer. Wow.
No, not really.

I wonder if it has space inside for a drive?
Interesting to see a wireless transmitter on the table (from the booth out) so the speakers have presumably low latency connection - and maybe battery powered too?
A transmitter with an alpha logo on too
I seen some of the transmitters added for certification too.
I’m sure they intend to sell this vilely coloured piece of ■■■■ for at least $1,000.
all bets are off on the price
Bluetooth 5.4 based maybe? 20ms latency would make it acceptable for DJ applications. Custom transmitters, of course, could even reach lower values.
Those speakers seem to have that AT logo, too.
To be fair, if they are the house speakers lag is irrelevant really…as long as you have a monitor connected properly.

Some wireless HDJ headphones too?
Be interesting to see how they work.
The Jack plug and cable solution is solid as a rock isn’t it. None of my Bluetooth headphones can be described as that.
Probably the same tech as those AiAiAi headphones TMA-2 Studio Wireless+ | AIAIAI or AT’s new WaveEight speakers.
The speakers in the pic do look like the ones in this manual:
https://fccid.io/2AM73-WAVEEIGHT/Users-Manual/User-Manual-6881380
Battery powered (8 hours claimed) 110W 8" woofer and 1" dome tweeter with BT 5.1 and something called SonicLink that works on 2.4GHz.
My S1 pro doesn’t reach the 10hrs advertised, but you can do a gig.
If they’re calling it SD-MAX then it sounds rather final… after all, where do you go from “Max”
Maybe it’s a final wave goodbye ….
But keep in mind the usual pioneer MO is to re-release an existing product a couple of years after its original launch, with a different casing color and a couple of buttons moved around lol
Ask Apple haha, wasnt their M chip from like 2yrs back called the Max?
Apparently with this device they’ve found a way to make Bluetooth track playback work as if it were from a USB stick. So it’s possible to mix, scratch, put hotcues or make loops on tracks sent via Bluetooth from a phone or streaming service apps like spotify , for example.
They use this as a marketing argument, saying that it’s the only device capable of doing this.
I’m sure that Denon could easily implement this functionality on prime gear.
One glaring omission from the Omnis Duo, which seems a bit bizarre, is that you can’t change the key of a track.
There is a pitch beat FX but no way of selecting a key on the decks.
It looks pretty cool, but in honesty with all the other ways of being able to get music on the players, just how useful is it? I get having Bluetooth for say streaming a playlist from a guests phone at a party etc… it seems more of a gimmick to me.
Let’s just say it could be a bonus for some things. I’m thinking in particular of certain streaming applications that aren’t supported, such as deezer or amazon music for those who don’t have the + products (prime 4+, sc live etc…).
How many of us already have a spotify, deezer or amazon subscription included in our amazon prime option and are forced to take out an additional tidal subscription just because the others aren’t supported, all to be used occasionally when you’re asked for a specific track that you don’t have in your collection.
The question I’m asking myself in the case of Amazon Music is how Alphatheta managed this in terms of rights when we know that inMusic was obliged to implant a specific DRM chip, which doesn’t seem to be the case on the Omnis. With this bluetooth method, Alphatheta seems to have found a workaround, since any track coming from a bluetooth stream is cached and can be mixed whatever its origin.
Have you watched the reviews of it? it looked a bit clunky to me, certainly not something id want to be trying in a professional environment, it reeks of instability.
Id like to see someone perform a full set where they are caching streamed tracks from one of those apps and getting it to work flawlessly. All i saw was Chris Mojaxx using Djay to play a track stored on his phone.
