Attention ! Pioneer promises heavy lol

Plug and play reinvented.

I’d be suspicious of anything posted on April 1st. Especially given the dodgy photoshopping of the fake wood trim on the front of that deck, it doesn’t even match on either side.

Finally seen an Opus in the flesh this afternoon.

It’s massive, way bigger than a Prime 4.

Looks better in person than it does online but still weird… has nice faders, dials and screens on it though.

Looks like they’re (finally) going in with streaming in the CDJ-3000…

On a unit with no wifi is a mild facepalm. They’ll no doubt release a 3000s model at some point so people can wax their hard earned cash again.

Definitely a facelift model on the way.

I really didn’t think the Atari would have found any use for those warehouses full of spares from their VCS2600 tv games console - so well done Atari

Approach appears convoluted.

But they got streaming on the preparation mode now.

Time to bump this request

what i dont get is why on CDJs. Is streaming not better for entry level controllers? I mean yeah its cool for an professional to test songs before, but most people will not have the money for a deck of cdjs

Probably the RX4 will have it.

Yeah I feel the CDJ-3000 audience are the least likely to make use of it, whereas the XDJ-700/Controller users would.

Even though it’s not real that looks decent but if it were real would probably cost £6000 all in

Time to revisit an old thread…

Whenever one of the big DJ vendors announce something new, I see a considerable amount of ads, noise or new announcements on socials from their rival.

As inMusic announce a new shiny Prime update, Pioneer DJ announce new Dropbox cloud options:

I see it the other way too. Whenever Pio DJ announce something new I see Denon DJ ads pushed on socials. I remember the sheer volume of VDJ stems ads I was getting when Serato have us updated stems. It’s just how business works but it’s funny to see. The idea of making lots of noise so you can’t see the competition is still a classic routine. Gotta love it.

Denon has a big communication problem in France!

Each time I created news pages on the Audiofanzine Site and also on a Denon Prime Group page in France, otherwise well apart from coming across it by chance, or at most during a presentation by a DJ tester local DJStuff, it unfortunately goes unnoticed! (Note that the Audiofanzine Site has a large number of Pioneer DJ fans, so they will not be in a hurry to promote the new products from the Denon Prime Range!

Denon DJ doesn’t have an official French page on social networks to relay communication, organise demonstrations, live shows etc etc like Pioneer DJ France does… That’s the big problem.

Denon DJ relies solely on Algam as its distributor here, but few people know Algam as a brand and so few people follow their networks. And Algam doesn’t only distribute Denon DJ so it’s less interesting for a fan who only wants to keep up to date with the brand.

As a consultant in digital communications and social media here in France, I can say that Denon DJ has a lot of work to do to develop its brand and its universe on the French market, but there is a huge under-exploited potential. But according to DJ Stuff “Denon couldn’t care less about the French market”. And that’s a shame. Denon must not underestimate any market if they hope one day to take the lead.

It should be quite an important market too, given the popularity of the French language globally.

You’re right, you can’t imagine the interest in Denon DJ products here in France, I see a lot of dj’s on the various French Facebook groups who are curious and interested in Denon and even many of them used to be Pioneer fans. Three of my DJ friends each bought a pair of SC6000Ms after trying mine and were totally surprised at how Denon has a technological edge and perceived quality light years ahead of Pioneer while offering more for a lot less money.

My analysis is that Denon’s strategy could have worked much more effectively here if they had developed their French social networks by organising a tour with demonstrations in the most important shops on French soil, announcing events in advance on their French social networks if they had any. This is exactly what Pioneer is doing, and they’re racking up orders even though no equipment is available and there’s an 8-month to 1 year+ wait for certain products. Denon clearly has a card to play by taking advantage of the non-availability of Pioneer products when most Denon products are readily available.

They clearly should have stepped into the breach with a major communications campaign. with a slogan something like “Why pay more, wait to get it and get less good ? It’s a good time to change your rider” But they don’t give themselves the means.

I must admit, ive lost count of the amount of times ive been asked why im not using Pioneer/how i find the Denon gear, and ive only had my device for a couple of years… people have rarely spent much time looking into the Engine range, at the most knowing a few features here and there.

The work with French influencers is completely neglected by Denon too.

I have to admit that there are not many French influencers as followed as Mojaxx or Phil Morse, Crossfader, GetintheMix and who receive Denon products in advance to talk about them or on the day of their release.

There is the DJ Stuff channel and more recently the “Le Warm up du DJ” channel which appeared on YouTube, which talks a lot about Denon products but which is still very little followed.

There are also very popular French DJs who do video reviews of equipment like DJ Shuba-K, but apparently no Denon Prime products have been sent to him until now. He nevertheless has a certain influence with almost 32,000 followers on Youtube.
