Each of your suggestions needs its own request form, so that each suggestion can be voted on independently by forum members
Applying that same logic, one could also argue that you didn’t need to ask a question when the answer is obvious
Dear friend, I believe that there is an intention to create an unnecessary controversy in relation to my question, it is obvious that I know perfectly well that when the update is ready it will be available for download, but my question was not that and you know perfectly well that, but yes, if any member of the community with the minimum of education and spirit of companionship, knew of any information of a possible launch period, because I see that not only me but many, are suffering with bugs and lack of simple resources, I am very sorry this unnecessary debate.
Mid June is the approximate date being given, what is on the update is for devs and beta testers to know and the general public to find out when it’s released.
My advice is temper your expectations as it will ultimately just lead to disappointment. Being happy with the fact they are providing regular updates is a much better outlook.
That’s the key really and the only key.
If someone thought there were features missing from the prime they were about to buy then they should have looked into the purchase more before buying it. Eg: I need to have 6 decimal places of BPM or I can’t DJ …… this has 1 decimal place for bpm … nahahahahahah I’ll buy it anyway (why?)
Similarly, no one walked up to a retailer counter and said “here’s my $1799 , I’m having that $1799 Prime and make sure I get 14 free of charge firmware updates in the next 24 months or I’m going to :
A) Throw this out of a transparent square viewing portal
B) Slag this product off on social media and buy something for 4 times the price with half the features from brand x
C) Have floods of tears on social media every few days until I can guilt-trip someone into writing my ideas into the firmware by Tuesday supper-time
The problem is that we are in lack of new Denon DJ pro products : sc live devices are unuseable as pro devices. Bad buttons and switches, every people I know has been refunded. That is why we are waiting for new updates.
My P4 (who was revolutionary) is 4 years old, my Prime go 3… As for all electronic devices, and as outsider we need more new products to compete with Pioneer.
I’d say the SC6000 is still plenty sufficient as a Pioneer competitor - especially as these new firmware updates keep coming
What specifically are you looking for to ‘compete with Pioneer’ ?
What devices do they offer that Denon doesn’t, and they need to?
We already know a Prime 4+ is coming in the next few weeks, what about it being 4yrs old means it’s been taken over by Pioneer? what have they offered that exceeds the featureset of the Prime 4? that Opus thing?
The problem is … you’re trying to push the above statement as a problem, when that’s actually a tribute to just how far advanced and innovative those products are.
Where’s my 2ch super duper Denon mixer? It’s been over 5 years and still waiting.
Where’s the engine dj for iOS app?
Where’s my Denon Dj underwear?
I don’t understand why people buy into an ecosystem then compare it to the competition or complain that it does not have ‘x’ feature.
If someone is willing to spend potentially thousands on a DJ system then surely they would have the common sense to invest some time investigating the online reviews, the hundreds of video reviews and dare i say ‘try before you buy’ approach.
This is not aimed at people who own Denon hardware and compare to Pioneer or vice versa or any of the posts in this topic.
When i got my Native Instruments S4 MKIII [which my wife purchased as a gift] this was my first real [in my eyes] DJ controller/deck/hardware, my first and only mixer prior to this was a ‘Tandy mixer’ some 20+ years prior.
I spent many hours looking at the reviews online, watching countless videos and making sure in my head that it was the right purchase. This is from someone who is not a DJ but loves music and the ability to do ‘a mix’ in my own time, in my man cave 8)
Add on another 18 months and i decided to drop 4k on 2 SC5000m and X1800 mixer from Denon, the complete polar opposite from what currently had. Add on another 2 years and i am the proud owner of 2 SC6000, 2 LC6000 and X1850 mixer.
I guess what confuses me is that people complain about, decimal places, coloured waveforms, the ability to see 4 decks playing on one screen amongst other things, but none of these have prevented you from becoming talented DJ’s, nor will not having them stop you from being successful, i have listened to a lot of the mixes that have/have not been posted on the forums and not once did i think ‘if they had this feature on their DJ kit’ that would have been a better mix, or sounded better.
I thought about this, and I reckon they see Rane as the one to cover that need. I agree though, a 2 channel Denon mixer is needed.
Massive point here Revan, the wealth of information available online has never been better for researching products, there really is zero excuse to buy something then be eternally disappointed with the purchase.
My opinion is that the op + 1 other, is talking through it.
When i bought my first Denon set the reseller invited me to come and sample them before i bought them, but i had already done my homework, so i was happy dropping the cash, didn’t help they were a 2 hour drive for me 8)
I have no indifference to Pioneer or any other brand, ‘for me’, Pioneer ‘do not’ innovate, they just reinvent and this they do successfully.
My biggest observation across the forums and social media is that Pioneer are the industry standard - lets be clear here, there have been, and will be many ‘Market leaders’ to come and go, and Pioneer will not be the last of them.
One of my all time favourite DJs is Carl Cox, rocks up to a gig, doesn’t give a toss what the gear is, play’s his heart out.
Haha yeah I saw a clip on insta of CC the other day, using Ableton for his set… people in the comments moaning about him using sync, I thought the comments were funny and pathetic at the same time.
Some lad asked me about Pioneer v Denon at my gig last night, I just said I dont like paying over the odds for gear so I will steer away from them.
You need to find a way that suits you when updating your library. Personally I use an external sync software to copy my music across multiple drives. I never bother syncing my libraries in the Engine software. The drive with the latest changes I just copy to the backup drives after deleting the ones already there & sync music across using my external sync software, it’s so much quicker
Organize my playlists by software like Serato, Lexicon, Rekordbox, I already do that, the question is: is there a possibility for these software to transfer tracks to Prime 4?, as far as I know, only Engine DJ makes this connection.
We miss iTunes/Music auto sync like in Rekordbox. Sync is not efficient in Engine software, that’s the weak point for our devices.
yes engine is the only one who transfers it to the Denon products (if you mean with transfert, the playlist are imported on to the internal SSD?) otherwise this would be a feature no one elese allows you to do. Only denon even can use recrodbox sticks on the fly. The implementation to transfer serato to the prime 4 or Lexicon would be a task for the 3rd party hardware, not denon.
