Alpha Theta releases new Cdj 1500x

There was stock at thomann last week when i checked but not anymore

Pioneer actually have had that kind of loop knob before. On my xdj-r1 for example

Yeah, they go very fast.

Pioneer DJ was good at milking the cow, but as AlphaTheta it’s on another level. Let’s see if the market finally start to realize there are other options..

About the device itself, i found Mojaxx remark on the reason of the hotcue’s being single function telling. The gear has been developed to ā€˜support’ the path to the (limited) flagship player.

I don’t really see much differences with a hercules controller with an Ipad attachment.

If we need an estate agent, we’ll call ya

With all due respect, we’ve been asking for a new Player for years, and nothing has happened. The SC6000 hasn’t been in stock for years. Some of us wanted a replacement for the VL12, and it never arrived. I get the impression that InMusic abandoned the Player line to sell us controllers. I’m a 100% Denon DJ fan, but they completely abandoned that market segment. Kudos to Alpha Theta, who released something that looks like a portable oven, but they released it. Honestly, I don’t know what Denon DJ is waiting for. I feel let down and abandoned by InMusic.

They were waiting for that particular question. LoL, why people are so impatient, when we still have cdj3000x killers since 2017…

LOL @ the overly dramatic language. :man_facepalming:

Abandoned? No, they’re still on the web site, alongside all the other current products.

Why is a new player necessary? Did the old ones suddenly stop working? Are they missing features? What’s the issue that requires a new model?

OK so AT released a new CDJ - that people have been criticising since it appeared e.g. It’s too expensive (which I do agree with). It looks like a toy. The jog wheel is too small. Why hasn’t it got this? Why hasn’t it got that?

It’s just the same old same old, recycled. Like Akai with their constant stream of ā€œnewā€ MPCs. Are they necessary? Not really, but here’s another one. :man_shrugging:

Actually, lots happened.

Consider this…. When Pionner/Alpha temu finally come up with a new feature, they don’t release it free to existing customers/owners… they bring out a whole new model, same as the last model, with the new feature, and a price tag 20% up from the previous model.

Denon DJ on the other hand, design a new feature and offer it free of charge to existing owners/customers via a free firmware update. No selling your old model, no having to get new Flightcases or deck savers for you lr new model, no gap between selling the old ones and ordering the new ones.

Effectively, thanks to free firmware we’ve had an SC6000, an SC6001, an SC6002 , a 6003, 6004…. 6009 and more besides.

True…apart from Bluetooth (not available on certain models) or the addition of Amazon Music or Apple Music (chip required) or the graphic EQ on the System One, or the removal of StagelinQ on the Go+

Possibly more

People will buy these 1500x units but pioneer has better options within its own ecosystem due to the price of these players, I remain happy with my sc6000s

I would agree; I can only find very few in stock within Europe, however, with a price tag of $1900! (ā– ā– ā– ) 1899 euros.

Seems like after Alpha Temu made the release of the 1500X, they have won another title…They have won the Meme-war :joy::joy::joy::joy:

I haven’t seen any sc6000s, lc6000s, or x1850s new in the market for 2 years. It’s safe to say they killed the line.

Do you recommend me selling my 2 sc6000 prime now that they still hold value, before denon drops the new standalone player? or should i keep it? hard decision…

Then you are not looking in the right places. Thomann had them for a moment two weeks ago.

Many shops in EU have them and you can back ordered them if you want.

One new thing is that CoBeat service/functionality. I’m not too convinced - if you are spinning on a festival or club you’ve probably got a (semi) fixed set or genre prepared. A smaller venue (more appropriate for the cdj-1500x) you likely have direct contact with the audience anyway. Not sure where this fits in.. Your Mom requesting to put up some milder beats on your toy to revert the living room to a habitable state?:upside_down_face:

Or would this be something anybody would like (in Engine)?

I can see the idea in it, for some types of events/ gigs.

There is a right time for everything, and also for a feature where Clients/ Guests/ Customers can:

  1. Create a wish based on the tracks in your library.
  2. Create a message with a wish on a track that might not be in your library, but that you can access elsewhere.
  3. Maybe even give tips if the track gets played.

But its important that it states:

A. Making a wish doesnt ensure that the track will get played in case the dj consider it to not match the party.

B. The list provided aint the djs full library, so other tracks might also be played. (If the dj uses a streaming service aswell)

Maybe we can create the function by

Create a csv file based on our current library, and upload this to a profilesite, that we can share at the event.

Then we dont need a library or a copy of it, in the cloud.

Also make it optional to the dj if they want to have this function activated or deactivated.

But limit the wish rate to maybe once every 20th minute or so to prevent spam. :face_with_peeking_eye:

I think TheGuestList could be a appropriate name for such a feature.

If you can find them new thats awesome, I’m not sure how the market is Europe but you can pick up used sc6000s for $1100 usd here. I’ve seen them sell as low $900. The mixers go for $700. The only reason I look is because I’m thinking of selling mine. They’re awesome, I love them but I’m worried about not having any support or parts not being available if they break. That being said I would have down grade an over priced Alpha Theda controller, and I don’t really want to do that when I basically have 2 cdj 3000s in one unit.

I wouldn’t worry about the parts. SC5000 are still very repairable and are way older. Buttons, knobs, faders - these are all common parts, easy to get. Display is the same as in Prime 4 or Akai MPC X / X se / XL. Motherboard is same as all Denon dj decks on the market, even in the worst case scenario, it will still be relatively easy to buy a broken donor deck. Many people have mixers and decks since2000/2001 and they still work, despite spare parts officially are no longer produced. I fixed a lot of dj gear that parts are no longer supplied by the manufacturer. That is not a big problem for upcoming 5-10 years at least.
