Algoriddim showing Mojaxx a game changer

Must be me, but certainly not impressed. Gimmick status for me.

I’ve pronounced VR, AR and EV for that matter a dead-end years ago and still they try.

I called it. IHMO this isn’t a game changer, VR & AR aren’t the future.

Boring!!! image

Refer to my previous comments about Mojaxx :sunglasses:

At least the fake mixer knob touching can be explained now. “No, I’m using VR!” :relieved:

Absolutely LOVE this :rofl::rofl::rofl:.

I mentioned this exact issue on Threads and many of the responses I got were:

  • The crowd loves it when it seems like I am doing something.
  • No one ever got hurt faking it.
  • I feel like an idiot standing there while the song plays, so i touch stuff to look busy.
  • The only ones who care are other DJs

VR DJing, just making your echo chamber bigger LOL More fake internet points for ambitious Tiktok DJs LOL

And Mojaxx is demoing it live on Twitch

I’m an avid VR user for DCS and holy smokes – i can’t imagine using this. It’s a nice gimmick and perhaps future DJs who grew up with VR headsets will be able to take advantage.

AR may be, but not as implemented today.

Yeah, I just watched the Twitch stream. I ended up having to get rid of the video feed and just have the chat open. The wobbly cam was just too much.

I wrote something similar to a friend.

Eventually someone will stream with this and they will gain fans because it’s new, quirky and that alone will build a following.

I’ve edited videos of me playing DCS and boy it’s hard for me to watch my own gameplay, let alone watch someone else’s head bounce around.

All that said, this tech is likely going to gain steam with the next generation of DJs. And we have to be open to that idea.

Majority Djs already live in an echo chamber, this will make it bigger.

I’ve done VRChat Djing, it’s fun but not the future. And frankly established VRC communities hate the influx of kids with new headsets joining communities, the clique level is higher than IRL. And the debauchery and politics, if you’ve never been in VCR then strap in. Also you don’t need VR headsets to DJ in VCR or participate or build a following.

The problem with kids these days (prepare for an old man shouts at clouds moment), they have this obsession with being edgelords. So basically the bigger the attitude problem the better in their eyes.

Thanks Stu - today I learned something! I’ve seen a few edgelords posting in various places recently, and they’re not kids either. Now I know what to call them.

So this is the famous revolution that was supposedly as important as the transition from analog to digital?

Seriously?

This industry is starting to become a joke!

It’s only good for tik tok DJs.

So try to do something technical with performance with this huge helmet screwed on your head, trying to catch things in the air and touch things that don’t exist with a more than random precision.

At best it’s an immersive VR experience for newbies but certainly not a Game Changer for professional DJs who need to be technical, with precise and fast gestures in their manipulations.

So much hype for so little, I said that it was better to be wary of bold statements.

This thing will never be used in a professional environment

IMHO if you’re going to an “idiot” at least make content from it LOL
