Cheers for the link. That’s mighty impressive stuff.
The best thing, he lives about 30 miles away from me and the local lads in my town have started booking him for their events, at places I’ve played at over the years. So once we get settled into the new house I’ll be heading down catch one of his 45 sets.
This is why I always like his reviews cos at least he is a working DJ out there doing the do, I think he is fairly critical too when he needs to be, his opus quad and SC-Live reviews show that.
Cleveland Terry is one I tend to avoid. I used to follow him but he’s not presenting the best of the gear during reviews and watching his Prime Go+ and small form factor standalone comparison video it’s just full of inaccuracies. He’s critical but to a point it’s too much.
Shame really.
It is difficult finding the balance.
I remember one of my reviewer friends once gave Nokia a critical review and they blacklisted him the next day.
Hopefully not the same with DJ equipment suppliers but you never know.
When you say Cleveland Terry is too critical that’s a fair point however I feel Mojaxx and the like can also be too positive the other way.
I managed to catch Mojaxx playing b2b with Smoove last Xmas in Newcastle. Great night of tunes and both up for a chat in between.
Yeah top Geezers. Smoove plays some tunes too.
Was that at the brewery?
Nope, No28 Nelson Street
I like the salt market at North Shields, bit rowdy but great venue.
Never been, we live “Down South” and originally came up for the Smoove and Turrell Xmas gig and it just so happened that Smoove and Mojaxx were playing the night before. It was an excellent weekend.
The high level of Geordieness around here explains the dry humor.
I went to Digital in Newcastle one night and was so smashed I don’t remember any of it. Was a match day with a 12 kick off and we had spent the whole day in City Vaults and Cozy Joes. Good times indeed.
Newcastle is indeed a wonderful city.
Some people who stand behind DJ gear have been acting like that for some time now lol
Seen Louie Vega, Prydz, Norman Cook, Sanchez and loads more in there, the sound system is unreal, I might be wrong but I think it was something like the 2nd venue in the world to get Funktion one after Space
I’m Yorkshire/adopted Durhamite but the point still stands ![]()
It’s an awesome place to come, Tynemouth and Whitley Bay are great places to stay if you’re up again.
There are many other videos where that one came from too.
Other sets at the same venue, and lots of episodes from his PROGREZZ Twitch streams (progressive house and melodic techno). On Twitch he’s also done Sub Bass Sundays (liquid D&B) and completely open format sets.
There was also the time he did a weird alien takeover stream, and people honestly believed his channel had been hacked. ![]()
That would be absolute carnage after a couple of double Bacardis ![]()
Yeah definitely not for me.
Sitting in the pub playing with the Prime Go+ and Engine OS is bizarre enough for me without that.
It is pretty disappointing after the build up and the ideas about what it might be…
As he says though, if it ever does get to the point where a DJ can have a HUD without wearing a bulky headset then…maybe. We ain’t there yet.
