Algoriddim showing Mojaxx a game changer

Discussion on Algoriddim board.

VR, itā€™s probably VR.

But Itā€™s nice to see a Prime GO on the table being worked on.

No idea what it might be, but also couldnā€™t get past the ā€˜never heard of himā€™ edgelord being shot down in the comments

I suspect the reveal will be later this week.

Now thatā€™s attention to details!

AI mixing, no longer need a DJ.

That is definitely coming, but I canā€™t see Mojaxx and Angelo being that excited about it.

Still have this thought: They are very intertwined with Apple (ex-employments etc.), so my guess something Apple Intelligence AI-ish. Creating music/stems/transitions/mixing on the fly or by command.

Hmmmā€¦

I canā€™t see anything Apple-centric being described as a game changer though, especially by Mojaxx, as not everyone uses Apple - which limits it being widely adopted.

For it to be a game changer, IMO it would have to be something available to everyone.

It especially smells like a big PR stunt to hype up something that risks being a bit more ā€œmehā€ than ā€œwowā€ in the end.

Iā€™m always wary of this kind of bold statements

Like when Denon talks about ā€œthe worldā€™s first standalone including stemsā€ā€¦ we saw what that gaveā€¦

I dunno @STU-C : this leaked photo of a new Reloop standalone DJAY controller reveals a new feature called ā€œOtto-pilotā€

This is way off topic:

I canā€™t stand the idea of VR being used for DJing. And iā€™m not being likeā€¦

ā€¦ about it.

I play DCS (Digital Combat Simulator) and in order to have full immersion, and actually be useful, I had to invest in a HOTAS (Hands-On Throttle and Stick) and pedals at the minimum. Using the video game controllers to do simple button pushes was absolutely horrific. I built an entire rig that moves and vibrates to increase immersion.

(my setup)

DJing w/ VR? Dude ā€“ canā€™t imagine doing what I do in VR without a slew of HIDs (Human Interface Devices) to interact with. I mean more power to the people who can, but if you want limit yourself to single button presses and not having tactile touch (this is what the HOTAS does btw), then go for it.

Not really a fan of Mojaxx to be honest. Heā€™s too ā€œcorporateā€ in his reviews and you canā€™t help feeling they are more PR managed than natural.

A bit like the massive hype where Laidback Luke apparently developed the Reloop Mixtour Pro where in reality all he had done was map a couple of buttons.

Heā€™s definitely gotten more refined (professional) as he gained more experience.

If that turns you off, who do you prefer?

In defence of Mojaxx @Homeland101er any widely-known reviewer is the channel for the corps to push out new product. Otherwise how do they get the message out about new releases?

For example:

Mojaxx is a professional whoā€™s great for really in depth reviews from the perspective of a working DJ.

Phil Morse is also very practical about reviews though personally I think he skims a lot of detail beyond the press release.

Crossfader started out well but have been slipping ever closer towardsā€¦.

A vast number of clickbait ā€œreactionā€ and ā€œopinionā€ pieces online. You know them well. Eye catching title frame, screwed up face, hyperbole, and a video of an amateur influencer yakking on and on (and on) what they think of this and that, as if I cared about their inner world.

Mojaxx does way better work than that.

One thing you always have to remember is that this is a symbiosis, so the reviewers need a constant supply of product to review. A really negative review could have AlphaTheta passing you over, and without the latest AT product you donā€™t get clicks and subscribes, so bear that in mind: theyā€™ll all temper their negativity if a product stinks, the biases are baked in.

The best type of review letā€™s you form your own opinion based on an in depth presentation of the way the product works.

Indeed. When he gets the kit in, rather than just power it up in the studio for a video, heā€™ll take it out and use it in real life working situations before reviewing it.

Otto-Stems.

Essentially would be Suno/Udio ect. in DJ software (maybe hardware) and then able to create Stems from the AI tune. Groundbreaking /s

We know the majors labels want AI music so they donā€™t have to pay artists, if you thought bedroom DJs weā€™re bad this will unleash the DJ apocalypse of ā€œproducersā€.

This is my prediction.

This was the last gig at that venue, as itā€™s had to close because the nearby Tyne Bridge is being restored.

At one point (1:58:28) he meets a fan from the US, and at another (3:06:08) is asked if heā€™s got some cheesy 80s pop tune and has to explain why he canā€™t play it. Luckily the guy didnā€™t ask to look through the boxesā€¦
