Your Music Folder Can't be accesed (4.1.0)

I saw some people report this problem with many previous Engine Versions. When update like 4.1.0 goes live and database approach is changed, that blocks me and other from updating our mixers.

Temporary solution is to revert the software to 4.0, but that forces me to format my USB (not to mention SSD) every time i want to upload new music into it, while my mixer is on 4.1.0…

Dear Engine team please consider different approach to this kind of drive reading problem and for example mark the files as unavailable not block the access to the software.

Important Note:

Because of database performance optimizations added with this release, Collection Databases used in Engine DJ 4.1.0 are only compatible with version 4.0.1 or later.

Do you get this message on Engine DJ Desktop or Engine OS?

Error occurs on Engine DJ Desktop (4.1.0) windows 11

Prime 4 (4.1) works fine with USB device exported from 4.0.

I’ll write you some things, you’ll tell me if they have been done.

  1. Update the Prime 4 firmware to the latest version (4.1.0).
  2. Insert your external USB drive (the one that contains your tracks) into the Prime 4, let Prime 4 do the database conversion.
  3. Update Engine DJ Desktop to the latest version 4.1.0.
  4. Then connect your external drive with the updated database to your computer.
  5. Your Engine DJ Desktop should read your external drive without problems.

This is what I did and what I usually do always with positive results. I hope it helps you.

I just did step 3. Update of Engine DJ Desktop and got above error, without plugging any external drive
