Question, I’m a bit lost with the MIDI settings of the x1850. According to the manual you should have two settings regarding MIDI in the utility menu; one for the clock and one for all other midi messages. The mixer is sending the clock out perfectly but is also sending other midi messages. On my x1850 (with latest FW) there is only the option “active send” visible in the utility > MIDI menu. Setting active send to off is not stopping the mixer from sending MIDI note messages which it should do according to the manual? Anyone able to check on an his/her x1850 which options are avaliable? I would sync an external MIDI device with the clock, but the mixer keeps changing other parameters on the device due to the note messages. Thanks for your feedback!
I’ve had a hard time myself regarding MIDI… I had contact with support that the 1850 can receive MIDI clock via an external device (over USB), but it’s kinda fluky, I use the 1850 as a performance mixer for my synths.
Anyhow regarding your particular query off of memory I believe there is only an option for active send, but I’ll check in a couple days when I’m back with my toys. I just wanted to hop on this forum ASAP out of my own interest.
You are sending or receiving the MIDI clock to the 1850? I was never able to get this to work, wanted to try link, but people have send traktor can’t send Midi clock to 1850… only 1600 could receive
So answering yr question- yeah it is only active send, and I know what you mean, the manual is a bit confusing on that.
I was attempting to receive clock via MIDI… I’ll copy paste what I got from support, you can try it too and lmk if it works, it didn’t quite work in my experience:
“The X1850 is capable of sending and receiving MIDI signal from the MIDI ports and the USB ports. The MIDI Start/Stop button will enable the MIDI from being sent/received.
(Pic not available from copy paste, sorry)
Press this button to send a MIDI Start or MIDI Stop message out of the USB port or MIDI output (you will need to use the Utility menu to select one under Utility > System >MIDI).
The tempo will be that of the selection of the FX Channel Assign knob. If you change the selection of the FX Channel Assign knob, press and hold this button to send the new tempo.”
