X1850 Mixer with SC6000’s

I work full time being in management so rarely get time for myself and being absolutely honest here I use them about three times a week if that for a few hours. All the units have dust covers and looked after so well.

How Denon expect these to be used in a professional environment by DJ’s is anybodies guess. These would be ripped apart at Ministry Of Sound within 6 months if I’m being honest.

I wouldn’t half mind if we actually had the option to change the faders ourselves.

I think we can all agree that it is not the best mixer, FRANTIC had some issues and maybe some bad luck. But since the whole stock of the X1850 isnt really available anymore and denon is pretty sure aware that it is not the ideal mixer, we should look for the next product.

For my part the X1850 never let me down. If he had problems it was only software wise and i use it at events with several DJs and weekly at home with my friends.

I have had two issues with my x1850 which involved a bleed and broken fader, as it was a repair and not a replace I have nothing to compare it to, I wish the eq knobs where fatter like the pioneer knobs just easier to grip during a set especially if its hot. I presume Denon will come out with a new mixer in the coming months in light of the A9 being released.

There are still retailers that have stock of the 1850 so i don’t really know what you are basing that on.

All of the online retailer in the US that I checked have this item on backorder into July if not end of summer. I also contacted one of them, a DJ shop, also in backorder, next batch is uncertain.

I therefore decided to make the plunge and settled for a reloop rmx-95, which is also a fine club mixer

I bought the X1850 first, and added a pair of LC6000’s to my Serato setup. Now I’m saving up for my first SC6000, and eventually will get another SC6000 to get away from having to use Serato.

I guess availability does vary considerably by country, i hope you enjoy your Reloop, looks like an interesting mixer :+1:t3:

Ok i actually saw that it is back in stock. But still I believe there is an update coming. But I don’t have any certainty. Let’s just see what happens and if I am wrong and the next mixer is years ahead, all blame on me

Plenty of stock across most regions / too much being read into dealers keeping shallow stock of many items from many manufacturers currently

I love the MX-1. I really wish there was something comparable, as it’s getting up there in age. I use it a bit differently though. I have one setup of my SC6ks and x1850 going to 3 and 4, and another setup of my Rane 72 MKIIs and Rane 72 MKII going to 1 and 2, then Ableton in through PC, TR-8S, MC-707 and Tb-303 through the Aira links, and finally my MPC One going in Midi (via the x1850 first) on channels 5/6. All works flawlessly. I love my x1850, the ability to use both Ableton Sync and Midi Sync. Live performances are a blast.

Takes less than 5 mins beginning to end to replace a crossfader on an x1850, which is also plug and play. Not sure what you were doing, or what you were working on, but it wasn’t an 1850…

The crossfader is easy to exchange on the x18 range but the channel faders (or up faders) are a longer, internal component swap out.

Modular components have their benefits but hold some connectivity disadvantages too.

Wow, your setup is really impressive! With the combination of the TR-8S, MC-707, TB-303, and MPC One you certainly take the club apart. Maybe we will see an updated MX-2 one day? Who knows …

Keep the crowd on their toes and the good vibes flowing! :green_heart::herb:

@gsweater

I’m not talking about the crossfader.

I’m referring to the “upfader” volume faders on each channel. There’s no way of changing them without opening the whole table and unsoldering them.

There is an existing feature request for that, have you voted on it?

It really should’ve been implemented on this mixer though shouldn’t have it.

I would imagine this was heavily requested after the release of the X1800 down the line when customers had fader issues and had to send back for repair.

Specially, when their competitor gave customers this option with their flagship mixer which was released years before (DJM 900 Nexus)

So I finally picked up my mixer yesterday and I absolutely love it, works so well with the SC6000’s. I was on them for 5 hours straight. A lot different than the SC Live 4. It took me a while to get used to using the two screens lol kept going to change the song on the deck that was playing :man_facepalming:

I always play from playlists, so I have the same playlist open on both players. Is there a way to have the sc6000’s show what songs I’ve played (turn green) on both playlists?

If you use link and play from a single usb stick/source it will show played tracks on both players

I connected my SC6000 directly to the other using the provided Ethernet cable, and use one SD card and it works! If you have the Denon mixer, the Ethernet switch on the back of it should do.

I have an SSD in each player, that’s probably why it’s not syncing played songs. I’ll try selecting the same SSD for both players later.

Thanks :+1:
