X1850 link with traktor

I’m trying to get MIDI info from traktor to X1850, apparently I need to use ableton link?

Do I need to own ableton for this?

Also when I connect the Ethernet cable from my mixer (pc port) to my pc, I am not seeing anything under the networking tab of my pc… is this normal? I tried doing a IP refresh in the settings of the 1850

Does any one have detailed instructions in getting MIDI/link from traktor to the 1850?

Thanks!

Edit: I do see an unidentified network in the Ethernet settings.

What kind of MIDI info? For what purpose?

Ableton Link is for keeping things in sync - so you’d use it to keep i.e. a groovebox in time with Traktor. The X1850 is a mixer. It doesn’t have Link. The players have Link.

Yup. Unless your PC is running a DHCP Server, this is normal.

Unless it’s disabled in Device Manager, your ethernet port is (likely) working fine and is (likely) configured to use DHCP, as is your mixer.

Both will go into APIPA mode when there’s no DHCP server. They might still “see” each other.

IIRC, MIDI on the X18xx mixers only work on the MIDI or USB ports.

Was hoping to get precise info for effects, delay, roll etc. have them all on the same clock

The 18xx only has midi out. Can’t receive midi in from traktor.

The other option would be to use traktor for effects but I haven’t got the post faster effects working yet… I’d also want to disable the onboard effects so I can use the buttons and knobs without activating anything but don’t think there is a way to do that
