X1850 Cue RGB Mismatch

I feel that Khalid Guy - AND Another one. not having luck with the gear. I just received the X1850. i plugged deck 1 into network input 1 and deck two into Network 2 input of the X1850. I ran digital out layer A to channel 1 and Layer B to digital channel 2 and set the deck colors up with Deck 1 layer A blue and B green but layer B assigned its color to channel 3 of the mixer. Deck 2 digital out Layer A to channel 3 color Purple and Layer B to digital channel 4 Yellow but Channel 3 Purple was assigned to Channel 2 of the mixer and Layer B was assigned correctly to channel. What the HAY. i was able to find a solve but……… what’s going on here, i may have a 2 Lemons in my hands!!! the fix was putting Deck 1 in channel 1 and Deck 2 in Network slot 3 and they matched. i thought putting Deck 1 in slot 1 and deck 2 in slot 2 was logical but i guess not. Prior to that set up i put deck 1 in slot 2 and Deck 2 in slot 3 and that was like a frankenstein mismatch from Dj Hell. the mixer is on firmware 1.5 - what gives . does the denon gear require a sacrifice of your first born to make them work correctly. Losing my faith and trust.

I’m pretty sure that bit is in the manual.

Always connect the deck lan ports on the same channel as Audio from Your layer A of the same deck.

If you have your decks routed into the mixer as follows copy the sequence.

1-2-3-4 (A-B : A-B) use Lan ports 1 & 3

3-1-2-4 (B-A : A-B) use Lan ports 2 & 3

1-3-4-2 (A-B : B-A) use Lan ports 1 & 4

Also press and hold connect button and confirm the layout setting to mixer via deck screens.

Your deck screens will now say Left deck - 1A&1B , Right deck 2A&2B

In utilities on mixer, connect option, keep set to AUTO

If your screens and cue buttons don’t match still restart the process.

RTFM is a perfectly good answer for some topics.

This Digi thing is so fun but I am spending so much $ on Wax AKA VinyL. I just got a Gig with a Local brewery because Brewing is like playing vinyl its organic

Wait…You’re spending lots of money on vinyl to play at a local brewery because you’re not getting the “organic” feeling from your digital gear? What decks are you even using, BTW, you didn’t say. You just referenced the mixer.

Yeah I know its awkwerd. For now The Bar scene is a vinyl scene. I have Two Stanton STR8 150’s that I leave at the bar with an ECLER NUO2 i put in battle style only to free up space on the table they put there fo me. Theres no issues with that set up except the Stanton’s are Crazy Heavy !!! The Bar pay’s me decent $100 an hour and I play about 16 hours a month their so yeah that’s the Fun Money. I use that money to buy more records which is a whole other subject considering I’m in Chicago and I buy new music from Europe / Juno (by the way new vinyl is MAD money Expensive). This Denon set up is for me, the Bar is basically paying for which I plan on getting out for new events so i expect it to pay for itself as well. I moved to Chi from LA and played shows there weather it be the Local Bar “EastsideLuv”, Photo shoots or Porn After parties (Porn parties get NUTTY , white Lines Flowing). At those gigs I used my Vestax VCi300 with the effects module but I wanted upgrade in the digi world and was on the fence with either staying with a computer and either going for the RANE1 or Rev7. While out shopping I found a used Pioneer SZ2 that i put a down payment on and may still get because I found it for $1k - Wicked unit. For now I gifted myself with this Denon set up purerly based on Features mainly because I dont want to bring a computer with me because Computers can be un replacable due to photo’s etc. I know you can keep back ups but sometimes I forget so I wanted the independance of the Denon OS hardware. Keeping things holistic having a Computer stand is just wierd if you think about it no one can see your face and thats part of the connection with whomever is in front of you, they just see the laptop lid. I have 2 SC5000M’s and the X1850, I bought the 5k’s at Guitar center both Demo units so they were crazy cheap at $525 a pice so $1050 for the set. I found the X1850 for $1050 with a flight case and a DecSaver on eBay. I got what I wanted at what I think is the best price BUT one of the decks is not working correctly with the platter not running at the correct speed so I am working with Denon for a repair but other than that these things are dope. I love the dual layers but now having two units I dont find myself using that feature at all. Playing two songs is like muscle memory, you feel like you have to have a deck on the left and right not just straight down. Sorry for the long winded answer but I am enjoying this adventure big time and yes the first time I have ever been part of a forum / community so I appreciate the posts/ replies /chats amd community support. Big ups - KRLS1.
