Today I decided to try my sc5000 in computer mode with virtual dj. I’ve done this before on my old surface Pro laptop without issue it’s just that my laptop finally crapped out on me. All my new laptop when I plugged the prime players in it recognize them as USB devices. I downloaded the driver ahead of time and installed it before plugging in the prime players but neither Serato nor virtual DJ are recognizing my controllers.
I followed the exact same steps on my wife’s surface Pro and it works perfectly fine but for some reason on my computer they’re not being recognized. Please help?
And before anyone says anything, yes I’ve already done a search on the forums and could not find the specific answer that I was looking for. Thanks!
As first: Connect the Prime to laptop. Set Prime to computer Mode.
Then please open up the device manager, and look if you find a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark.
If that is the case, prime hardware and notebook are ok - but the driver has failed.
if that is the case: uninstall everything that has to do with DENON.
Head over the internet. Go to the DENON website and grab a fresh installer.
After that: turn off antivirus - because sometimes it can block access to OS-Systemfiles.
Install the package in administrator mode.
restart laptop. And set Prime to computer mode.
Now connect Prime to the freshly restarted laptop.
Only in computermode you will see the drivers. When there are no triangles, then everything should work.
When I looked at the drivers yesterday, I didn’t see anything strange, but I will try this here within the hour. The antivirus thing could be the issue possibly. Hadn’t thought of that
Edit:
There were no triangles showing but attempted the above either way. There is nothing w an additional driver showing for sc5000 screen, which was not there before, however, it still does not seem to be working.
I was really excited to be able to use these as both standalone and also with virtual DJ’s awesome features, but this is starting to get pretty aggravating.
