Hi , where can I find the manufacturing date of my Denon SC6000 , I have looked at the outside of my players but I cannot find it. I didn’t find it in Engine OS either.
It’s probably encoded into the serial number. Why do you want to know?
Thank you for your response, I would like to know, because I recently acquired two SC6000s and I would like to compare it with the data that the seller gave me.
I checked my units and the paperwork. There is nothing about the manufacturing date. I also checked a Prime Go box and don’t see a manufacturing date on it. Sorry, the SC6000 boxes are way in the back of a closet under the stairs.
The serial numbers appear to be sequentially numbered with no indication of date. The last four digits of mine are plus minus 1000. They were purchased in November 2020.
I guess they didn’t provide you an original purchase receipt or you wouldn’t be asking. Are you able to register them?
One pointer Incan add. A manufacturing change was made in 2021. If the faceplate is less glossy and kind of matte, the unit is past-2021
What’s up @DJ_GOMY,
DISCLAIMER: Total speculation here. I have several pieces of equipment. Looking at the serial number and purchase dates, what I’m finding is that it appears that the serials numbers follow the format (21)A1XXXXXXXXXXXXX.
The pattern seems to be: (21)A1 [YY][MM][DD] [XXXXXXX]
The serial number for my SC5000M purchased Oct 2021:
(21)A1200223XXXXXXX
Base on this, the manufacture date is 02/23/2020
The serial number for my X1850 purchased Aug 2023:
(21)A1230524XXXXXXX
Assumed manufacture date is 05/24/2023
Perhaps someone from Denon DJ can chime in and confirm/deny/amend my assumptions.
Cheers!
Checked on my end and yeah that seems to be correct. The six digits after (21)A1 is most likely the manufacturing date.
Bingo @Mixlive. My serial numbers for the Sc6000 start as A1200824XXXXXXX. So 24 Aug 2020 makes sense. Same with X1850 and Prime Go.
Glad that I was able to help. I’m off to find the winning lottery numbers. I’ll keep you posted.
Looking further, I might be having two of the first 40 made SC6000’s.
You guys got me looking at mine lol.
It looks like my 5000m was made July 23 2018.
For some reason I thought I got it in 2017. I know I got it when the first price drop came into effect. I’m gonna check the purchase history at Long and Mcquade next time I stop by there.
If you register them on InMusic
Yes, it makes sense, very good answer, it matches the date the seller told me, thank you very much.
