What was the last DJ related item you bought?

I LOVE Benidub!! I have the DSO1E Siren and the Digital Echo. If I were super paid I would have everything they offer, haha! Did you get the Spring Tank through Benidub as well? My TEIL2 (Revolo) has Send/Returns for a Spring Tank, and I’ve been thinking of buying one for it!

Yeah, Benidub are one of my favourite FX manufacturers. I wish I’d gone for the Optical Phaser instead of the Strymon Mobius. Why haven’t you grabbed yourself a spring tank yet? I’d recommend going for a smaller one (Type-8), as mine (Type-9) is way too big and awkward to fit into a DJ setup. Oh, and I got my tank from a shop in the UK called Reggae Roast.

Mainly due to space constraints, but I think I have that sorted now. Thanks for the suggestion of getting the Type-8. Teile Elektronik sell their own tank which I assume has the same characteristics as the Type-8. Ahh, but I really love the sound from the Type-9, and even the Type-4, lol. Based on the SC clips, the Type-9 really does sound the best. In your experience, is that long decay accurately represented? Ahh, decisions, decisions. Perhaps I’ll buy them all one day, and switch them out as desired  .

Yeah, space is always the tricky part! Good to hear you’ve got that sorted. Totally get you on the Type-9 though; it’s got that lush, spacious decay that just feels right. From my experience, the long decay is pretty much as you hear it in the clips — maybe even smoother in person. And yeah, I’ve had the same thought — one day I’ll just grab them all and swap depending on the mood

  • Make sure firmware is the latest version
  • Try it in both a simple setup and a complex one to spot any quirks early.

The last thing I ordered were the RP7’s on release day. Still waiting on Reloop to ship more to cover my order, tho. I have a feeling they’ll be on backorder forever.

I bought the small PNY 256 GB Duo Link V3 USB stick.

Read speed 1000 MB/s, write speed 800 MB/s. This thing is incredibly fast, although the write speed from my Mac to the stick was more important to me than the read speed, since unfortunately, the Prime devices only support USB 3.0, which maxes out at 5 Gbps, but this stick supports 3.2 - 20 Gbps.

For those who find 256 GB sufficient, it’s a budget-friendly alternative to the new, expensive 512 GB SanDisk or Rekordbox sticks.

It only costs €34 on Amazon

Nothing new on my side (… more or less), but there is something I wanted to share, might be interesting for some German/EU buyers:

Absolute killer prices. Heck, I don’t even need the LC6000 and seriously consider getting one, just because they became so cheap. Sadly, my Prime 4 is white, though my Live 4 is black. Hmmmh.

Edit: It’s Thomann, yes.

Which supplier is that?

Looks like Thomann

Because Michaelsoft has been pushing to make Windows a huge privacy nightmare, I got a Mac studio to replace my windows 10 machine for streaming.

Also picked up a Zoom F4 recorder b/c it can record with timecode, allowing me to sync my cameras and now audio in post production. I’ve yet to hook it up though.

Edit: finally connected it and it sounds amazing. Have not tested with an NLE just yet. I was able to get the timecode jammed in via the Diety TC-1 that is connected to the camera

I just used my Christmas gift card and a bit of my end of the year savings and ordered a very non dj mixer.

Now waiting for Thomann package to arrive

Edit:

It is better than expected

Actually I forgot to mention, I did get something that could be called “DJ related” if said DJ ever creates remixes or does their own productions…

The guys at Mixed In Key have released a plugin called Wingman - appropriately named because it’s like having a buddy who helps out with musical ideas for your projects.

You can feed it anything from a vocal to an entire mixdown, and it will suggest sets of chords and basslines to fit. If you do feed it a whole mix, it splits that into stems.

You can export any of the split stems or suggested parts as audio or MIDI.

A bit late… but I’ve a white prime 4+ and the LC6000s as well. I just bought some white skins for them on dj-skins.com, look amazing and works perfect.

I’ve got one spare white LC6000 skin left, they send me three instead of two.

I’ve been increasingly unhappy with the microphone capabilities on my Prime 4, especially when it comes to flexibility and control. I kept hoping Denon would announce a Prime 4 MkII, but after waiting for quite a while I decided to stop holding my breath.

I ended up picking up a Behringer Flow 8 digital mixer. It gives me much better control over mic processing, EQ and routing, which is a big plus for weddings where live vocals are involved. It also gives me a proper place where a band or tape track artist can easily plug in without compromising the rest of my setup.

The fact that my wife wants to start producing a podcast this year definitely helped me bite the bullet, since the mixer will see some use outside of DJing as well.

Nice - and it has an app for wireless control & a clip for attaching it to a mic stand.
