Hi Engine DJ Team,
I am writing to request a setting/toggle in Engine OS that allows users to customize the secondary performance pad layers, specifically on the Prime 4 G2.
Currently, on the Prime 4 G2, double-tapping the Loop button is hard-coded to open the Sampler. For many DJs who transitioned from older hardware or rely heavily on pad-based loops, this completely ruins muscle memory. The Sampler is a feature that many of us rarely or never use, yet it takes up prime real estate on the physical hardware interface.
While I know you can use the screen override to manually switch the pads back to Auto Loops, Engine OS does not save this preference. The moment you press a hardware button, change tracks, or reboot, it defaults right back to the Sampler.
Please consider adding a preference toggle in the Utility menu such as:
- Pad Mode Behavior: [Default G2 / Legacy Auto Loop]
- Or an option to completely disable/re-map the Sampler layer.
Allowing us to put traditional Auto Loops back on the double-tap layer would immensely improve workflow and bring back the fast, intuitive looping that Denon DJ hardware is known for.
Thank you!
