Warranty claims - how do i go about it?

i currently have an open ticket on the inmusic site, but is that seriously the only way of contacting Denon dj about repair/warranty’s?

is there a uk phone number? or any option to speak to an actual person?

You should ideally go through your retailer.

I tried that already, they were initially going to order a new unit, then said they didnt have an option for it.

Amazon is the retailer, offered a refund which doesnt help at all. I got the unit on 12 monthly payments from amazon…

They wouldnt offer the same deal if i accepted the refund which leaves me about 300 quid short of the new price.

Just not an option for me. So i need the unit repairing or replacing… neither of which amazon would do. Just refered me to denon…

Tried ringing the uk number (google) to be told denon is a completely different brand to denon dj… :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: so frustrating.

Then thought ill just ring denon dj, :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: no contact number just a “support ticket” that looks to be lost in the post.

So fruatrating

What exactly did you buy, and are you sure it was Amazon directly that you bought it from? Many retailers sell things through Amazon for more visibility because so many people use Amazon.

It will be in music. They have centralised support for a multitude of brands.

Sc live 4 sold and shipped by amazon directly. The ticket is open with inmusic but it seems like a brick wall.

If you check the terms and conditions for the UK, all warranty claims have to go through your retailer (who have to be an authorised seller).

The best thing you can do is get the refund and purchase something else, preferably from a dedicated DJ shop who can deal with any repairs directly, with no additional loopholes.

Probably because they are on holiday until Monday. The office is at Ash Vale so you’ll be able to find a number and call them to chase up.

In my experience the ticket system is very poor and it can take days between responses.

thats a start. will give them a call monday. thanks for this.

i did check this before hand, the retailer referred me back to the manufacturer, denon dj, who obviously branches from in music.

yes refund is the option but im also entitled to refuse a refund, and have it repaired/replaced.

ive had 2 denon products in the last 2 years, friends and family bought the prime 4 near release date. my brother went through 4 prime 4’s before he through in the towel in with denon and went back to pioneer. great units but its always the faders that are seriously weak. which is a shame as id stick with denon all day long for the features. just the quality of the faders seriously lets them down

They should be handling the repair for you though, not just passing you the contact details for InMusic, that’s where the process is falling over, and completely different to my experience getting a repair done with my local retailer, who took the unit, packaged it, sent it, dealt with InMusic then received it back for me to collect. All I had to worry about was finding a second device to use whilst it was being repaired.

this was exactly what i assumed, they just refer you back to manufacturer. amazon are usually decent with returns, this isnt the case with this issue. just pushed from pillar to post

wouldnt mind but i live 3 miles away from bop dj leeds. i should of gone there but here we are lol

Yeah I’m up the road in Durham so got Phase One as mine. Bop are decent.

Honestly this is going into my bank of Amazon horror stories for DJ gear, I bought a mixtrack pro from there but it was only £160 so I didn’t really care if it broke.

I don’t even know how you progress it, maybe raise a complaint with amazon that they aren’t following process.

its crazy aint it, wouldnt mind, i could repair them myself. but as soon as i lay hands on its internals, warranty void, i also have a mixstream pro too, same issue, faders, or 1 of them. weak points at top and bottom of the faders.

just have to wait it out until i can contact inmusic directly, or take it to the financial ombudsman on the basis of amazon/Denon DJ are in breach of the consumer rights act 2015.

That might be an avenue, the only thing you need to check is if Amazon are an authorised reseller or not, I assume they have some kind of grey area or loopholes for this.

Hopefully InMusic get back to you when they return from the new year break.

Out of curiosity, your not the producer STU C producing bounce music are you?

Haha no definitely not me, I’m intrigued now though and will check him out. My cousins husband plays that stuff, I’ll ask him if he knows who it is.

:joy: hes been around years… even does his title in caps :joy:

Update, after finally getting through to an amazon support collegue and explaining the issue “in detail” multiple times,

The assistant (after confirming 3 or 4 times with her “manager”) has magically offered a replacement unit.

Initally she said we can order a replacement thats fine, then said “oh, my computer has given me an error saying “item is outside the return window” so let me get my manager to assist”

After been put on hold 3 times came back amd asked for my delivery address, then dropped the killer, we have organised to pick your item up, but… we cannot get a replacement unit to you until between january 25th and 6 march! :sob:

The only godsend is that they have offered a replacement. Just means a couple months without
