Version 2.1.2 on Prime 2 / play stops working on right side player

Anyone have had the issue where when you pres play, but the track doesn’t start? the issue is only on the right side player…

I have firmware version 2.1.2 and I suspect that it’s a firmware bug. It behaves as it’s in the vinyl mode and the speed is so slow, that the “needle” just isn’t moving even though you press play and the button indicates the track is on and also the cue button works normally. Also the hot cue pads doesn’t work. Removing safety features doesn’t help either. Furthermore I noticed that restarting helps for a while, but then it again goes to that same non-functional state. I noticed that if I put the right side player on “playlist” mode, the play starts and pauses the palylist without issues…

I’ve owned my p2 for over a year and this was the first time it did this on my gig and I had to play the whole gig with only the left side player, as I couldn’t interrupt the music by booting the device every time the right side palyer bugged out…

I’m going to try and do a factory reset, if that would prevent this problem in the future. But if you have some good ideas to try out if it bugs out again, I would appreciate it.

Does this happen with vinyl mode off? Do You have anything on the jog wheel? A sticker, or foil?

Vinyl mode on or off doesn’t matter. Nothing on the jog wheel.

I did a re-installation of the 2.1.2 firmware and the issue went away on my next day gig. I recon it’s a bug in the firmware version. Hope Denon patches it soon with a newer update.

Many people have 2.1.2 and they have no problems. Maybe it is something to do with the hardware… but try the reinstall first. Maybe @Anthony_DDJ can help out?

Yeah. the re-install worked as far as for the next gig, but I heard from others in a Facebook Denon community, who had the same issue, that some have had relapse even though they did re-install the firmware, but we’ll see.

Apparently today the 2.2 firmware was launched. I’ll update to it and follow-up on how things goes. My next gig is on Friday or Saturday. I’ll report back here if I find any issues.

Hi Antonio, tengo este mismo problema, después de la última actualización me pasa que con que en el lado derecho no funciona el botón de play, he restaurado de fábrica, y para mi sorpresa se queda la misma actualización la última y me da el mismo problema. he intentado apagando y encendiendo y sigue pasando, solamente arranca con el botón de hot cue. me puedes ayudar por favor ,muchas gracias.
