Does anyone have experience using X1850 with MPC One? Looking to be able to select input for samples and loops based of input from just usb connection, no need to. No laptop, using the audio interface in the x1850 attached directly to the MPC one. Will I be able to select with channel I records from?
Helo @some_po Yes, it will work. On MPC in audio preference you can set the x1850 as audio interface. Then in mixer view assign proper inputs to certain tracks.
Thanks! Do you know if I have the ability to record the master out of my sets as well?
When using any external recorder - yes. MPC can record only limited time (maybe 8minutes)
Do you think a digitakt would work?
Basically looking for a standalone replacement for the remix deck in traktor (sequencer, sampler) that can also act as a mix recorder?
Maybe just get two cheaper devices is the best plan
Well, digitakt is nice, but doesnât have ableton link - you will have hard time with tempo sync here. Also digitakt will not be able to record the whole mix. I went a bit different route. For remix decks I used Akai Force, for recording - Tascam Portacapture X8.
Agreed. Youâre probably better off getting two dedicated devices. Those âgrooveboxâ type devices can record, but the M.O. is different.
Theyâre designed to record in short sections (samples or bars) then have those sections arranged into a song, whereas a simple stereo digital recorder will just keep going until itâs full.
For slightly more $$$ there are some cute little âpodcastâ mixers around that can also record.
Thanks for all the feedback.
Thinking Iâm going to record in audaicty on a surface pro 4, via usb from the x1850
Does a device need an ethernet link port to be able to use link? Can it receive link timing via USB? Iâm wondering about the Novation Circuit Tracks work?
Novation circuit does not have ableton link. You need to send it midi clock via usb.
