Hello there all,I did a search but was unable to fund anything about this topic .
My question is: Is there a way to see how many hours your Denon SC 5000 / 6000 etc
Has been used for?
You know like days, hours of use?
Haven’t found anything online or in the user manual about this.
Perhaps there is not a function or page in the denon Engine OS (Standalone) where you can see or find Hours used??
The point being, if I got a second hand unit that I could check the amount of use it may or may not if had…’
Cheers in advance,
Or is this a new function request? @Denon….
Hi, yes indeed, however having not the best experience with ebay, I tend to stay clear of it all together :•)
I actually found a B-Stock returns unit on a reputable Inline store (Music store gmb).
Which had been described as a customer 30day return. With a few light scratches on the platter wheel.
Was inly €770 with 3 year granite and 30 day return policy :•)
So was happy to find that, and actually is still like new (Orginal box and accessories, manuel and everything else).
Is on Engine OS 1.2.2 still lol and is in great condition apart from a stiff platter brake adjustment. But I can live with that for the price.
I’d personally be slightly suspicious about it being on that firmware version, it makes it sound like it’s been around for several years. Perhaps the retailer just hasn’t been able to shift it, but why scratches on the platter? My not so lightly used gear doesn’t have scratches on it.
Yes I also asked them thease questions,
Stated indeed was older stock, But could not account for why it was damaged, I also have no ider why this was.
Perhaps someone bought it and has been B-Stock for a long-time? I would add though Music Store is quite a reputable brick and mortar store in germany, And I do have the ability to send it back for a full refund and it also has there own 3 Year warranty.
On a side note. at least its not from a user who may of had it for such a time, as indeed 1.2.2 Is almost the orginal firmware. So would also indicate that its never been used as it would of been updated at some point, I got an instant notification to update to 2.2 or something to that effect.
Other than that, there was no evidence it has been used (no fingerprints or grease prints anywhere and everything else was intact in the orginal box.
I will check today if it has been registered on Denon site, and update it to a newer OS 3.3 I think (as 3.4 is the latest, but I will wait for users experience with that first).
Over all I feel happy with the price, as a second hand SC5000 elsewhere was between 8.50 & 900 euros, used!
I bought my Prime 4 at Music Store GmbH as well. The staff was very skilled and consulted me properly on the phone. Furthermore they have a great showroom and I bought not only the P4 there, but also lights, cables, interface, knobs …
If I need some more equipment (e.g. headphone, loudspeaker …) my first choice will be Music Store gmbH.
On a side note, I have since returned the item back to Music store , as it they could not state weather they would uphold the warranty without a full inspection.
So I returned it for a full refund. Then I got a second unit (B-Stock again), That one from them that failed and locked up on the 4.0 update, that went back to the for a repair in June, it then took over 15 weeks before Denon Dj (InMusic) service department marked it back for credit, due to the fact they was unable to get some parts for the repair. However never stated what the problem was actually.
So after another full refund from Music-Store.
Have since got myself a new SC6000, to be on the safer side, with an extra / extended warranty from Bax-Shop.
Cheers all for your advise and input, much appriciated.
