Hi there I’ve just purchased my P4 taking delivery in February so have time to get to know engine prime, my question is if i import my traktor files are they read only so is it best to convert to Denon if I want make future changes to individual tracks. Any advice would be appreciated. Retro Grooves
There is 2 ways you can do it
A.
Choose the Traktor tab, and press import. Drag the crates directly to the usb/ ssd drive. (you find this in the Devices tab inside Engine Prime) All changes you make to the tracks on the Prime 4, stays but wont get transferred back in to Engine.
B.
Choose the Traktor tab, and press import. Drag the crates to the Collection tab in Engine first, and from there to the usb/ ssd drive. (you find this in the Devices tab inside Engine Prime)
Changes made on the P4 will then be able to Sync back to Engine
Important: Changes will not get transfered back into Traktor.

I would recommend B… Its a bit more work, but if your drive goes down, you will have the earlier progress/ changes from last time you remembered to Sync. (its the little round arrow that is next to you profile icon under the Device tab)
This becomes active when there are changes to Sync.
I always does this as the first thing each time I connect my drive to my Mac.
