Hi, I recently switched to the Prime 4+ from another ecosystem and one thing that really bothers me is the track time display – it’s so small that in a fast-paced mix I can barely read how much time is left.
Is there any way to make the remaining time counter at least 2x larger or more prominent on the screen? This is honestly one of the biggest drawbacks for me at the moment.
Yep, that just seems to be Denon’s way forward, despite our feedback. Make the waves BIGGER and the decks smaller. Scrolling waves are considered more important than any track related info.
Denon, please give us the option to choose the font size of the track time display. This is a very important element, and I can’t understand why it’s so small and hard to notice right now.
Even better – add the time display into the jogwheel screens. At the moment those jogwheel displays are almost useless, just showing the cover art. Having the time there would be much more practical (and yes, cover art is fun, but accurate timing is way more important ).
Unfortunately, it looks like I’ll have to part ways with my Prime 4+. As good as it looks on paper, Denon just hasn’t polished it properly. Sadly, I’ll have to go back to where I came from… It’s a shame, because there are many things I really liked about this system and device, but too many features are poorly implemented.
Don’t give up too quickly, there’s no guarantee that the display won’t get bigger with updates, especially if there’s constant pressure from the community.
This forum is the contact, post your suggestions here and they will consider them. Im not sure they will be looking for people to do their coding for them however.
It’s a funny ol’ trend that when some former competitor brings out a new model with a new over inflated price tag, with all the associated “influencer”(lol) videos or reviews or “game changer”(yawn) type e-tat from Hijax or Fidget-all DJ quips… we get these sorts of “I’m jumping ship” posts for, quite frankly, trivial reasons
I know it’s unlikely, but maybe in the future it could be added as one of the optional views — similar to how Serato looks on the Prime 4. Not everything, just the track view with the large time display.
I agree , I’m new to the prime 4+ and bought it online without playing with one first, looked great on paper but it’s not working for me.
I love Denon gear I really do (still rocking my mcx7000) but I don’t see many other choices for standalone units other than pioneer, I don’t need all the hype associated with pioneer I just want a player that fits my needs.
It’s not for me about jumping ships really, just what I need , just what works for me.
