Track BPM being loaded as either 87 or 174

I’m finding when I load in some Drum & Bass tracks they are mostly showing up as 87 bit some are loading on as 174 and then when I clicked sync it’s messed the whole track up on the right side deck. Now whoever I load a track to the left side it’s loading it as 174 bit doing something weird to the song.

Is there a way to force them all to either load in as 87 or as 174? And also reverse what it’s doing to the tracks in the right side deck?

choose a higher bpm range value prior to analysis in engine prime, you can also do same on the prime go if you are using tidal or analyzing on the go

Settings > Library > BPM Range

Some tracks will still be missed, you can double the BPM - edit before syncing

give that a vote as well for times when all above fails

Thanks Mufasa!

Let’s say I’m analysing without a laptop or engine Prime software. How do I double the bpm or half it from the Prime Go itself?

Also where am I going Settings > Library > Bpm range ?

Is this in the Prime Go itself?

I dont have a Go

Try the Menu button by holding down the VIEW button

Hold down the Vinyl button

@MrWilks you got a go right?

Yes I have a Prime Go and also have a Prime 4 - I’m new to both of them but the Go I only got last week.

Thanks for the tips I tried the hold down vinyl button and can see how to do it now

Yeah, as @mufasa said if you hold down the vinyl button you’ll get another edit menu where you can halve and double the BPM. Unfortunately no way to rescan an incorrect track in Engine OS yet.

I think what the Op is asking for is Sync for Half/Double BPM’s llke on RekordBox/Traktor/Serato which as far as I am aware is not supported by Engine Prime.

I mix jungle dnb and have the same problem. I lot of the time you get 70-80 bpm as opposed to 140-160 - just as the kick drum pattern is not so defined as other styles.

Anyway, when importing your tracks and setting your cue points there is a x2 /2 button - I’d suggest just standardising on whether you go for the half bpm or true bpm for your library. I stuck with the half bpm values for my library before I realised it being an issue but I actually prefer it as the display is less busy with grid lines.

Hope that makes sense.

Also I believe you can edit the beatgrid and double or half tempo on the device - by using the ‘vinyl’ button…

Thanks appreciate the tips. I think I’ll prepare my drum abd bass tracks in engine prime software first and see how I get on.

I mix Jungle/DNB regular and feel your paid tbh. But the problem exists across all DJ software, be it Denon/Pioneer/Traktor/Serato etc. You just got to take time and make sure you prepare your grids on the problematic tracks.

I often have to go into RekordBox 6 and open up “Export mode” and set a Dynamic beat grid manually with these genres.

If your tags are decent.

Pull up Jungle or Drum n Bass in the genre or comment search function

Select all

Go to Engine settings and choose the appropriate bpm range you need them to be
