The Numark Mixstream Pro family doesn't have enough effects.

The Numark Mixstream Pro controllers are very complete with Engine DJ functions, but they fall short on touch effects since they only have four.

Which is kinda related to the lower budget needed to buy one.

Without answering “all”, what FX would you like to have added?

Whilst i understand the nerfing of FX on the device itself, i think the touch FX should have parity across the range.

Agree with @STU-C here.

Hardware effects incur additional costs because they require a DSP, dedicated control buttons, etc., but touch effects are purely software-based.

Not implementing all the touch effects is therefore purely a deliberate marketing decision intended to segment the product lines, so as not to overshadow the Prime Go, which probably has more touch effects.

If the 1000 buck item did everything the 2000 buck item did, who’d buy the 2000 buck item ?

The SC6000s are great players, but people still buy the less capable CDJ-3000s.

:grinning:

As long as there are people who are easily influenced by all the brainwashing/propaganda surrounding the club standard, who are willing to follow trends like sheep and pay for overrated and overpriced products just to show off their social status, to be like the next guy and not appear inferior to him in the eyes of others, companies like Pioneer/AT will continue to sell their products without any problem.

But they’re not the only company taking advantage of people’s gullibility. How many people are willing to spend €1,000-€1,200 on a high-end phone from a well-known Apple brand, just to avoid being inferior to their neighbor or their friends, when in reality, 99% of them just use it for basic things like browsing social media, browsing YouTube, checking email, writing messages, taking the occasional photo, making calls, using WhatsApp, or consulting ChatGPT? And yet, any Chinese phone under €350 would be perfectly adequate for this type of application, both in terms of performance and ease of use.

Humanity and rationality are two things that don’t go together.

I spent a short time on Reddit recently, ive since deleted my account as it can be described as nothing more than a dumping ground.

One thing that shocked me most was the amount of people who go there thinking they will get good advice. The next thing was just how many people blindly parrot that club standard nonsense, im at the point now where i utterly hate the phrase, its my most hated thing in the whole of DJing, i think i prefer Paris Hilton to that phrase.

There are people parroting that stupid club standard mantra all day every day on there, and the noobs they parrot it to lap it up, with the deluded belief they are all going to be the next Skrillex. They will even recommend controllers like the DDJ-400 or FLX4 as the ‘perfect pathway to CDJs’… anyone with half an ounce of experience will know that is utter nonsense.

Well that’s not the reason I choose to use an iPhone. As a DJ there are many apps I find useful which are only available on iOS. There are no Android versions.

In fact I often see when something is released, all the Android users complaining and asking why there’s no Android version. Typically it’s because Android isn’t up to the job, or is simply too hard to support because of the numerous versions.

Similarly people choose Windows or MacOS because they want to run certain software or hardware. It could be said that Linux is “perfectly adequate” but compatibility wise…

Case in point: Ableton Link enabled apps.

  • iOS - 192 apps
  • Android - 16
  • Linux - 7

@STU-C

I completely agree with you; those who repeat this “mantra” are as complicit as the company itself.

If they do it unconsciously, it’s because they’re completely brainwashed by marketing. And if they do it consciously, it’s even more serious, in my opinion.

@PKtheDJ

There are obviously specific use cases like yours. I was mainly referring to ordinary people, the general public who use their phones for basic things. Some are even willing to take out a loan to buy a €1,200 phone or just to upgrade it every year and get the latest version just to be on top of the latest trends.
