The move from Traktor to Engine DJ

Hi! I’m a Traktor 4 DJ with Kontrol S2 MK3 & want to make the move to Denon DJ Prime Go+. Thanks to Lexicon, I’ve already exported my Traktor collection incl beatgrids, cue points & playlists to Engine DJ. Some of my tracks in Traktor have several beatmarkers. Is there a way to set more than on beatmarker in Engine DJ?

Moin @DJ_Nully ,

what do you mean with

?

Is it a synonym for “HotCue”?

Brgds from HAM BeatMaster

Moin, in Traktor, I can set several beatmarkers to correct an unsteady beatgrid in tracks that are not quantized. So, for example, one beatmarker on the first beat, one in the middle of a track where the beatgrid is out of sync & one at the end. Since Traktor 4, beatgrids are “flexible”, but not as good as the warp function in Ableton.

Moin @DJ_Nully ,

if I understood you properly, you will find in Engine DJ a function called “anchor”

pls have a look at page 36 of ENGINE DJ Manual

and page 37

If you want to amend your beatgrid on the gear, pls have a look at the manual page 53

I hope, this will help you for the moment.

Have some fun with these tools :innocent:

Thanks a lot for the reply & the info! Yes, the anchor function is the solution for my task. I have another question: As as I’m not yet allowed to post in the Engine DJ hardware area (do I have to be a product owner to post there?), I have to ask here: I’m curious if I can use a cheap mini Bluetooth keyboard with the Prime Go+ controller for track searches?

Officially this is not documented. But I would not be surprised if that would work. The underlying OS is Linux, and this will recognize a Bluetooth or USB connected keyboard. In many similar devices this works, despite not being designed with this in mind.

so, just try it out
