Sync only metadata to prevent deleting files from drives

Dear Fellas!

I have an inconvenient problem with Sync Manager. The case: I have freshly synced my musics and start using SC Live 4. I did not set Cue points in the Engine DJ app because I want to do that on the controller. I start playing and I set the CUE points as I go, and they are saved on the external drive. That’s fine. Another day, when I sit down to look for new music, I insert the pendrive. If I have new music in the folder and I want to sync it to the pendrive, it will overwrite the metadata of the music, it will lose all the CUE points that I set on the controller. So I would sync the other way first, but then I’m afraid that it will delete the music from the computer.

When I delete any music from the computer, will it be put back on the pendrive because I synced it back?

What is a good solution so that if I want to place cue points on the player, this will definitely remain during the next synchronization?

However, Mixed in Key CUE points cannot be imported into Engine OS?

Isnt an ability to check a box to fetch only metadatas to one way do the trick?

In my experience, engine creates the union of the 2 versions of one playlist. In your case it won’t delete tracks.

also, when you delete a track on your laptop, and insert a stick, the track will re-appear. You have to have your stick inserted to delete something from a playlist. I feel this is a bug, but at least it won’t do what you’re scared of.

Maybe experiment with a test library or playlist?

Sync back USB changes to the computer library first before syncing from computer to USB
