Stems (Various Methods) & SC Live 4

Ok, so I’ve done searches and can’t seem to locate the answer to this. There are two instances of attempting to use stems that don’t seem to work for me. I’m assuming this is the same case on other hardware and not specific to the SC Live 4.

Method 1 I’ve analyzed tracks for stems on my external drive, can plug the external drive in and play the tracks & stems (or tracks exported to a thumdrive etc). So that works.

Method 2 Analyzing tracks in Engine DJ and playing from computer as source. No stems.

Method 3 Analyzing tracks for stems in Engine, exporting to Dropbox, loading via dropbox connection, no stems.

I’m assuming Method 3 isn’t working because stems data isn’t being exported to dropbox (but if I have the space, I don’t see why it couldn’t be done)

And I’m actually surprised Method 2 doesn’t work as Engine DJ has the data and the stems list, but stems list and stems for tracks not available when using the Engine DJ as the source.

I’m assuming I’m just edge use. As I said, the normal use of using a thumbdrive or external drive with the tracks works. So I can do it that way in the mean time. I’ll probaly do a small test of tracks with a manual upload of stems data to see if that works on Dropbox.

It was written in the release notes that Stems do not work with Engine Remote (i.e. using EDJ Desktop as a source in Engine OS). I understand that you don’t give an explanation because “stems are available in Engine DJ”, but you might also think that since you can’t listen to stems from your computer via EDJ, then that might be the reason why it is not possible. This is just my guess.

However, methods 2 and 3 are not usable with stems tracks, that’s the situation for now.

Situation 2 and 3 is an attempt to use stems with streamed tracks - stems are not available while streaming. The engine dj desktop app is using same connectivity as streaming services, that’s why denon hardware will not play stems from it.

Seriously? I downloaded the stems software with the idea I could use it with the SC Live 4..

You can use stems only with local tracks.

And how?? I have the stems folder from engine dj onto my flash drive. Now where is the information on how to play on the SC Live 4
