Seeking advice for dealing with a large library (Engine OS + Virtual DJ)

Hi Mufasa, I’m running W11 on EliteBook laptop.

E:\ drive is Sandisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD (connected through a USB hub) M:\ drive is Crucial 1TB SATA 2.5 SSD (internal Prime 4+ drive) Both drives contain ≈ 46 k tracks in 31 k folders (340 Gb)

For testing purpose, I made a full restart of the computer, I waited that most processes became “quiet” and I also closed my 2 browsers, that consume a lot of RAM. Also, before that, I ran a perf. test with CrystalDiskMark. Here are the results:

Before database cleanup: it took about 25 min. (RAM consumption 550 Mb at 65%, CPU about 12% among 17% CPU use) After database cleanup (i ran the cleanup, saved the database, closed Engine DJ then restart it): aggregating drive started 2 min after launch (other tasks were performing first) and took another 23 mn → same.

Remember I proposed to make a full database reset for a fresh start, because I was unsure of my first steps. I may have start a bad way…
