Hey guys! I recently got new a pair of SC6000M and while I am loving them, I am facing a very annoying issue with the link between units. I am using an SD Card for my music collection and 50% of the time the unit that is linked to the one with the SD Card inside does not recognize the SD Card at all. When this happens I have to power cycle the unit, and then I still only have 50% of working. Sometimes I have to power cycle the unit 3 times in order o work, which is very unfortunate. I am using the lan cable provided in the box, and once they connect everything works great. Do you guys have any advice for me to solve this issue? Thanks!
Congrats on your new gear! What version of Engine OS are you using?
Hi @djliquidice! I have them on version 3.4 (I tried the 4.0 but did not like the layout, especially the small time counter).
What happens if you put the SD card in the other player? Does it still lose the link going the other way? Also, what brand of SD card?
Have you tried swapping the device hosting the SD card?
Beat ya there buddy.
Yes, from my experience with 2 SC6000 connected either directly or via an X1850 there can be initial connectivity issues. I’ve had that setup since Dec 2020 and updates are applied as released.
To improve performance, I use separate SSD with each of the SC6000. Tracks load faster. I also check out connectivity carefully on setup (e.g. Sync).
Try a master reset in both units, then load the latest 3.4 again!
Get these.
extreme overkill for a 100Mbps connection
You’re probably right but after being on the phone and online with Denon tech support for the better part of a week trying to trouble shoot the problem and being told I would need to send the X1850 in for a diagnostic, I decided to try the $6 option and it worked. So, overkill - probably but $6 saved me the “hassle” of trying to work 2 weddings with my Prime Go.
Hey @DJEsquire @djliquidice @SirReal @androphonic thank you all for the prompt replies! I tried all of the suggestions and after replacing the lan cable with a CAT7 I had laying around the issue was solved! @DJEsquire was right on the money! Thank you all!
OMG. After all these years, numerous people discussing this issue, and assuming Denon provided to spec cables, i will order those LAN cables. Thanks.
No problem my brother. Now go make somebody’s day special because that’s what we do!
I have 4 SC6000M decks, two pairs bought at different times. All using Stock LAN Cables no issues .
