SC6000M and Firmware 4.2.0 play speed issue

Hi,

Recently upgraded to 4.2.0 firmware. One of my players now has an odd adjustment to the speed, like putting you finger on the side or hitting the plus/minus below the pitch. Only one player, the other players are fine.

Wondering if I should factory reset this unit and start over? Anyone else seen this behavior?

How old is the deck?

Maybe 2 years old and kept at home, well cared for.

Sounds like it might need some new grease in the spindle.

Play your deck at 50%+ pitch and while spinning the disc backwards for 5 sec. And see it your deck gets better.

Try to make an Instant double between the two layers of this player with the motor on, or between this player and another player who is not causing problems with the motor off.

If your player with the motor on is lagging or you notice a drift. The grease on the motor axle probably needs to be replaced.

@Wyley1

This did seem to help the +50%. Thank you.

@Gaian

Is there a guide to greasing the platters and specific oil to use? Thank you!

Yes you can follow this step by step guide made by a member of the community. This one is for the SC5000M but it should be the same on the sc6000M
