SC6000 USB link not working

Hey guys,

I’ve been looking for a solution for a while, but I haven’t found anyone who seems to have the same problem as me.

For context: I exported my music library to a USB stick (Sandisk Extreme Pro 256GB / ExFAT) using Denon software (Engine DJ).

When I connect my stick to an SC6000 that is linked via RJ45, I can use the formatting normally, but I can’t play the content on the second player.

I get a ‘Read-only’ error message.

I can access the WAV/MP3 files, but without the Engine software formatting them first.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you for your help ^^

Is the error reproducible if you swap the Sandisk drive from player 1 to player 2?

I can vaguely remember a similar problem reported here on the forum with cause being the USB formating type (exfat/ntfs/etc). Please try searching using keywords, I am not able to do it at the moment for you.

How did you format the usb stick? What software, what settings?

Hey guys, so the USB are formated in ExFAT directly in the disk tool on MacOS. I laso tried to swap the sticks between the players, no changes…

The library is set directly in Engine DJ

Did you use MBR (instead of GUID)?

Never tried…

IIRC, MacOS defaults to GUID, and Engine requires MBR.

hmmm… gonna try this, thanks for the tip ^^ I’ll let you know asap

I use the default GUID all the time without issues.

Hey guys,

So i tried some things and it’s now working ^^ Here’s what i did :

  • 1 : Formated my USB stick with MBR via the Disk Manager on MacOS, as @djliquidice advised
  • 2 : I removed all numbers and special characters from the key name. Originally, it was named “Wassay #1”. Now it’s “WASSAY-A.”

I think the problem probably came from the name of the key, knowing that other DJs were using FAT32 keys in GUID without any problems. The character ♯ was probably causing recognition problems…

Thanks guys for your help ^^

I’d like to advise that you ensure you’re using exFAT over Fat32 as exFAT is far superior in every way.
