SC Live 4 with 2xLC6000 - USB hub

Hello dear community,

I know this has been a topic already, but since there was no solution I wanted to try again and see if someone from the community or the Denon team could help me.

I have a SC Live 4 Controller as well as two LC6000’s. Everything works fine, but when I have the two LCs plugged in there’s no USB Port left to use as a media input. I tried different USB-Hubs (2 non powered, 1 powered) but can’t make it work - either the LC doesn’t get recognized at all or I get a window saying I need to connect the LC to either port 3 or port 4 to use.

If someone did make the setup I’m trying to use work, I would be very happy to get some help or input.

The EngineOS version I use is the latest (4.3.2).

I use Orico clip-on USB hub and if i turn on my SCL4 with it connected but without connected usb drives through it then there will be problems. In this case usb drive will not bу recognised until i reconnect usb hub with usb drive in it Did you try to connect all you need to your usb hub and only after that power on your SCL4?

I didn’t try it before, but I did now. Still not working… I tried with different hubs, in port 1 and 2, using different ports of the hub - nothing..

Thanks for the suggestion though!

You could use the SD card slot for your music library?

I have a relatively sizable library on my SD card and it’s never missed a beat, even when recording back to the same source.

Not messed around that much with stems, but that’s also worked fine when I gave it a go.

Just make sure you get a decent one that would be suitable for a decent camera intended for video recording.

You need a powered USB hub, like TP-link UH700 or D-link Dub H7 or something similar.

Plugin both LC’s to the hub, usb drive directly to SC Live 4.

@Digital_Bob I do use the SD card, when I’m playing at home for me that works fine. Still I want to be able to use 4 decks and have a friend or colleague plug in his USB and simply start playing..

@NoiseRiser I did buy a powered USB Hub.. it’s a bit cheaper than the two you suggested (~18€), but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work with that one but with one of your suggestions instead.. or did you get it to work with one of these two hubs?

Thanks again for the suggestions

It’s not about the money, but about the power that the hub can provide to the LC6000’s. Unless, you tried with LC6000 power supply?

@NoiseRiser

I think I tried it all now.. powered and non-powered USB hubs with the LCs taking power from either the hub via UBS or having it powered with it’s own power connection.. Plugging it in different ports of the SC Live 4 and the different hubs, plugging the hub in before and after turning my Live 4 on..

Don’t know what’s left to do, it simply won’t work for me. Did anyone actually make it work with this setup?

Thanks
