Sc live 4 usb to lan raccomendation

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to use an usb to lan adapter to use cable instead wifi on this controller. If yes, which brand/chipset it’s supported by EOS?

Thanks, Gianluca

Hello @Gianluca_Crispiani Welcome to the forum.

The Generic USB to LAN adapters work just fine. I also found that USB hub with LAN connection built in also works OK.

For example like this one:

oh, ok, and what about the configuration? Can be set with static ip and soon? Sorry but I am new on EOS and I don’t know much about it’s config menu. My plan is to use a small 4g router used for internet connection but also for use the remote library shared by a laptop running windows version of EOS. I’ve read that this is possible…

Use DHCP, no static IP is possible. No config is needed.

Nearly every 1Gbit USBtoLAN adapter you can buy, has a Realtek chipset. Realtek driver seem to be the embedded in the OS, so it probably will work with every adapter available.

If you find one with another chipset, I would gladly hear of those. :relieved:

I wonder what chips are in our beloved action adapters - I have one still at home, need to crack it open for the sake of science

  As @Reese said, it’s hard to find (today) a consumer device built on different chipset than realtek, but to be sure…, it’s better to ask!! @NoiseRiser : just for the science!!!

Thanks a lot!!
