Sc Live 4 incl. Serato: Mic. EQ's and BPM FX

Hi, the Sc Live is a great controller. Unfortunately, the Serato integration is “flawed”. When I’m in computer mode with Serato, I can’t control the EQs from the microphone. I also have no control over the BPM FX parameters as they are not shown on the display. It would be great if you could change/fix that.

PS.: oh and while we’re at it: the master level display on the SC LIVE 4 does not react to the master control on the SC LIve, but to the master control in Serato. But it makes no sense to me.

Greetings

The reason behind all your issues is down to the fact the SC Live 4 becomes nothing more than a midi controller for Serato when used in that mode. To enjoy the full benefits of that device you should be using it in Standalone mode.

It should be reported to Serato - they made the mapping of the controls and the display integration.

Hey - Serato create all the mapping for their software. This would be something you would have ot log/request on related Serato forums.

I can imagine if they changed this for SCLive series… They would want to change it for all of the products.

Thx at all. I thought that Denon would be the first point of contact. I’ll also mention it to Serato.

I am also in contact with Serato due to the poor LED feedback implementation of the Live units. Tbh, I was a bit puzzled that the Denon devs didn’t report this back to Serato on their own. It’s basically only a matter of some HID/Midi-Values (set LED to 50% brightness when inactive, rather than off), no rocket science. Seems half-backed since the release:

I came in contact with a nice support guy via Facebook, and he confirmed:

Hi there, we tested this for you yesterday and can confirm what is happening here, you’re right, the following buttons are not lit at all when connected in Serato DJ Pro: Loop in and out, Slip and headphone cues. I have logged this in our bug-tracking software and will keep you updated. (…) Please note that generally our releases are planned in advance and so while this issue has now been raised, and will hopefully get a fix soon, it is not necessarily going to make it into our next release.

This was back in December. Fingers crossed for that!

P.S.: Standalone mode is my weapon of choice, but until EngineDJ offers a performance mode option like RB does, I still have to rely on Serato now and then. For extended open-format gigs with lots of music requests, I rather use my beefy 16" MBP rather than the fiddly 7" touchscreen. Serato was one of the reasons I had to skip the Prime 2. I am glad the Live 2/4 support it. Always good to have choices → flexibility.

yes, I think so too. Will also work certain party in stand-alone operation. for some things i will not be able to avoid Serato. I don’t necessarily want to either. like serato. now with stems is cool. but I would like to be able to afford the flexibility like you. I’m also of the opinion that if you offer it (denon + Serato), then it must work.
