SC Live 4 Engine 5.0.1 Random Freeze

I was playing around on my SC Live 4 using 5.0.1 runnign 2 decks of local music and Stems mixing backwards and forwards, recording the mix to the same USB that my Library is on (something I’ve done for hours on 4.3.4). Suddenly 32 minutes in (about 35 minutes after power on) both decks freeze, the display freezes and it all looks stuck (vu meters and hardware displays all frozen), then after a few seconds I grab my phone and make a video of the freeze. I then jab the Deck 1 play button afterwards more out of frustration than anything and the whole thing resumes like nothing happened.

I listened back to the recording and there is a momentary glitch in the audio (less than a second) and then it resumes.

Has this happened to anyone else on 5.0 or 5.0.1? My unit is only 4 months old and has only got about 50 hours on it in total. I’ve not seen this on 4.3.4 but could it be a 5.0 issue or a hardware issue?

I’m probably going to roll back to 4.3.4 but I prefer the RGB Waveforms.

Same issue I had today in a pool party but y took more than 30 seconds. Cue bottom play botton pitch band fader even the screen got freeze.. is so frustrating this about engine 5… and I was just in a transition tha of course got messed up… :face_with_head_bandage:

Happy to report it hasn’t happened having downgraded to 4.3.4 in the 6 hours I’ve played since. I’m still using the same USB that had been updated to 5.0.1, obviously I can’t access the RGB waveforms on it any longer but it still seems to work fine without downgrading the library to a previous version.

I do miss the RGB waveforms and the faster access to Amazon Music, but hopefully someone will work out why it is happening and give us a fix eventually.

Also finally got around with playing with Computer Mode (just because I came from a DDJ-SR using Serato Pro and still have it for backup), glad to see the SC Live contains a hardware license for Serato Pro. It’s an…interesting experience. The reason I wanted to move away from using Serato was because it is terrible at using up memory on my computer (about 2-3Mb / second until it consumes all the running resources) it has been an ongoing issue for them for years now and I can’t see it getting fixed any time soon.

i am also having a lot of freezing issues since the 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 updates, for me it happens when i am previewing a song right on the playlist without loading it on a deck. It freezes every time i click on a new track to preview. During that time the audio playback still continues but the SC4 Live screen and meters are frozen for a good 2 to 4 seconds

Hi Im having sometimeish issues with loading tracks, a freeze & to me tracks are taking longer to analyse than before , is embarrassing as when these pioneer boys come on my prime 4 they look at me , even worse when their usbs playlists import it takes a couple of mins & in the meanwhile all i can do is just stand there , can’t that issue also be sorted out
