An update on what the cause is would be useful, but perhaps they do not know.
It looks to me like a hardware issue affecting a particular batch. All these complaints seemed to come in pretty close together.

thank god its not only me experiencing this issue. just got my sc live 4 on thursday second hand, theres absolutely zero damage to the decks themselves but im having the exact same issue as everyone else on here. have a few local shows coming up and im relying on some sort of resolution to this issue as ive tried all of the above but no fix.
hi all is there any solution? Same happened to me yesterday and I have a gig on Friday. A repair will not cut it for me.
Hi - Can everyone experiencing this issue please reach out to support and list the serial number of your device Support | Engine DJ
i take it theres no resolution i can do in the house then. i sent a support ticket in on friday night how long roughly till ill get a response?
Thanks, have lodged ticket two days ago. Took it into Store Dj where I bought it from and they advised it is faulty. Is there any quicker resolution than waiting three-four weeks for the repair centre to deem it is faulty and offer a repair/replacement?
I have the same issue. Ive tried downgrading, resetting and then upgrading again but the issue persists. For me my main out does not output, just a low humming sound. Booth out and cue work as excepted somehow. Ive opened up a ticket but who knows how long thatll take
Either inMusic does not test their firmware on all hardware revisions of units and newer firmwares do not work with certain revisions or this is the same silly story as that firmware that “broke” the crossfader on Prime 2:
Looks more like a hardware component failing after a certain amount of time like the screen processor on the MCX8000.
I’m a bit late to this thread but I was one of the original posters with this issue before this thread started ( linked in on an earlier post ).
I sent mine back for repair and it was confirmed the motherboard( pcb board) was faulty and it got replaced .
I had the unit less than three months.
My guess is there is a dodgy batch of boards that were installed in the units .
I hope you all had your issues resolved .
Hello everybody, I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to provide a clear summary of everything that has happened with my Denon DJ SC LIVE 4 unit.
A little over a month ago, I purchased an SC LIVE 4 through Amazon, shipped directly to an address in Miami. I had a scheduled trip to the U.S., so I picked it up there, tested it for two weeks, and everything worked perfectly. I used it for several practice sessions without any issue.
Once I returned to Peru, I continued using the unit normally for the past month and a half. However, a few days ago, during a session, the controller suddenly produced a very loud interference-type noise while I was cueing a track in my headphones. I lowered the faders and the master volume, but the noise continued. Shortly after, the audio cut out completely.
When I turned the unit off and back on, the sound returned but extremely low, distorted, and unusable. The left output still works, but the right output is completely dead, producing only a saturated air-type noise. I tested:
XLR outputs → same problem
RCA outputs → same problem
Booth Out → right channel fails
Direct speaker connection → right channel fails
Different cables, different speakers, different mixers
Internal speakers and headphones → OK
At the moment of the failure, there was also a clear burnt smell. Everything indicates a hardware failure in the right output stage.
I attempted to get support through Amazon, especially since the product was sold and shipped by Amazon, but they completely refused to take responsibility or offer any solution despite the unit being practically new. They directed me to seek help from the manufacturer instead.
Because of this, I am now reaching out directly to Denon DJ. More than a technical repair, I am requesting a full replacement, as this type of sudden hardware failure on a professional device puts my reputation at risk during live performances. As a working DJ, reliability is everything, and repairing a unit that suffered this kind of internal damage does not give me confidence that it will remain stable during shows.
I’m currently waiting for confirmation or next steps from your support team, but I wanted to formally express my concern and my request for a complete replacement rather than a repair.
Thank you in advance for your attention, and I hope we can resolve this quickly.
What do you mean by that? Do you connect passive speakers to SC Live 4 directly?
Both my friend…
But connecting passive speakers can damage your device! You should not do that. This will also void your warranty.
Aquí tienes una respuesta en inglés, directa, clara y con tu vibe.
Hey, just to clarify, the direct connection to the passive speaker happened after the entire audio blackout issue, not before. I only did that as a test, just to rule out whether the problem was coming from my small mixer “pale” that I normally use to route any audio in/out between the controller, microphone, and the speakers.
In other words, the controller was already dead silent before I tried anything else. The speaker connection wasn’t the cause, it was simply a diagnostic step to understand where the failure came from.
Connecting the passive speakers is not a diagnostic test. More diagnostic would be if you would run a sine wave frequency sweep and measure the output with a spectrum analyser.
This is the second time it happened to me. Yesterday my SC Live 4 work perfectly fine, suddenly today all audio output not functioning. All the knob at 12 and fader are up, tried multiple cable, even tried downgrade the firmware it didnt help at all. Why this is happening out of sudden?
but one thing i noticed when when i switched it on when all of this happen, the apple music on my SC Live 4 are suddenly logged out and it asked me to scan the QR and log in back. is it something with the firmware and apple music causing the problem or something else?
another note, when it happen for the first time last year i immediately send back to the store. they said it wasnt any hardware faulty, but the firmware was. so what they did was downgrade to older version firmware. but im not sure which version it was.
if anyone had the same problem, please do share. reportedly some of SC Live 4 user had the same issue. Please fix this issue DENON DJ!! Or better recall all of this product!
I have one of the first units (purchased it a week after release in 11/2022) and no such issues, but I heard of this phenomena several times, where all outputs cease working, except the speakers. To simply “recall all” is not the solution, if only a certain batch is affected, or if this really just firmware related. We still don’t know.
As @aaaguy suggested, you should send your serial number to Support
It seems (sadly) that we have no official statement about this issue yet.
Maybe @Reese can move/merge this topic
Moved to here.
