Sorry if it’s has been asked before. I heard it was possible to do a mix with only one SC 6000 M thanks to the dual layer thing. I don’t really understand how this is possible but I admit it. But while you switch from a layer to another, which layer do you control with the vinyl? I mean, can you mix with one sc 6000 M and manipulate the vinyl? Can you choose which layer is manipulated through the vinyl? In other words, can you also scratch while mixing with only one sc 6000 M?
There are two layers but just one platter, so the platter controls only the layer you’ve selected.
Example: Start a track playing on layer A. Switch to layer B, load another track and scratch. The platter controls layer B.
the platter controls layer B while layer A still plays?
yes ! absolutely
Gaian, Pkthedj, thanks both of you for taking some time to answer me! I really appreciate the effort.
Think of the layer swap button like the key on your computer keyboard.
When Caps Lock is on, everything you press is CAPITAL letters (Deck 1)
When the Caps Lock is off, everything is small letters. (deck 2)
The Prime SC decks have two pairs of audio outputs, which feed into two different channels of your audio mixer.
It’s just like having two decks
Thanks Pasha for the metaphor, I 'm not sure I got it since I’m 50, I’m not a computer guy at all and I am a strictly vinyl DJ. If I understood well, I can mix and scratch with my mixer and only one SC 6000 M , that is what I’m looking for, thanks for your answer and your precious time
well that seems pretty clear now, this is pure wizardry but I got it, thanks
