Sc 5000m freeze/crash

Hello , I’m quite scared about those crashes while playing … my player freeze and i have to remove the power supply to turn it off. The player created a folder in the USB key and here’s what it says:

I can’t put everything here cause characters number is limited. Honestly i don’t understand much things… but this line is maybe interesting:

**v 22 16:48:24 sc5000m runengine[856]: Unable to set double buffer mode! (Invalid argument)

Could it be the reason ? Or maybe is it the new update ? Corrupted files? Hardware Issue? Please help me , thank you

Denon, If you seriously want to compete with pioneer, you’ve got to fix those bugs. Never had problems with cdj’s, and already a lot with SC 5000…

Did you format the drive to exfat before you put your tunes on it?

It was my first move after the crash . San Disk 3.0 128 Go

Can you reproduce it on 1.52 ? (https://www.denondj.com/downloads)

Also when a coredump is created a screen pops up with an email address to mail the coredump folder and its contents. When the coredump is transferred you can be sure development is looking into the cause of the crash

I’ve seen this before. It happened when my friend inserted his USB stick that he made for serato into my 5000m.

Here are the things he learned.

1). Format your drive to exfat

2). Use music downloaded from reputable sites. These people use doggie characters to upload pirate files so they won’t be caught distributing music.

These players are not pcs, they can’t read every file a pc/Mac can. A properly formatted USB stick plus music with metadata properly inputted equals no issues.

This is empirical and trouble shooting this matter across a decade has shown what I mentioned are likely the root causes of crashes 90% of the time.

1- Already Did

2- I Always buy my music on Beatport, Bandcamp ,TraxSource… My playlist are clean , I have NEVER EVER uploaded pirates files . All my files are WAV , AIFF or MP3

I would like to add the fact that i already hat a lot of freeze and crash but it was the first and last time the player created a folder with error message. But i have formatted it now

I need help with my sc5000 as well. it stays on the engine os screen and does nothing. I tried connecting to a computer and nothing happens. I emailed tech support and they don’t answer. this is really annoying. I bought my sc5000s 6 months ago.

hello, I’ve tried everything, nothing worked. So I sent my unit back with the guarentee , it was a motherboard hardware issue. you should sent it back before your guarentee expires.
