Freezes up when uploading a song on my prime 2, 4.0 update
Hi @Pswint
Could you provide a bit more detail about the issue? For example, when exactly does it freeze, or what steps you have tried already? If you have a video of the problem, that could also help us better understand what’s happening and how to assist you!
My right platter in vynil mode stops working on startup and off and on sometimes while in vynil mode. No scratches or spin back. Works like it’s off vynil mode.
Check that the screws under the chassis of the unit are tight, especially those that are at most or less around the horizontal center axis of the unit.
These screws help with grounding and can interfere with the jogwheel calibration sequence on one side or the other when the unit starts up. If you notice that some screws turn infinitely without being able to be tightened completely, your problem may be here.
If everything seems normal with the screws or if tightening them does not solve your problem, you can try the following workaround to see if it improves things for you:
Place your hand on the jogwheel that is causing the problem and turn on your Prime 2 while keeping your hand on the jogwheel during the entire start-up sequence. Only remove your hand when the unit is fully started and ready to load your tracks.
Holding a hand on the jog wheel or other metal part can improve grounding and allow the calibration sequence to be done at startup without interference.
If this works for you, your unit probably has an internal ground issue. And you will probably have to get used to doing this routine every time you start your unit if you want to use vinyl mode on the affected deck.
This is only a workaround and it is always recommended to have your unit checked or repaired by an authorized service center if your unit is still under warranty, or by a qualified professional technician if you are out of warranty.
