Have been using my Prime 4 for a few years now and since a while the recording volume seems to have increased drastically. When listening back in Adobe Audition the volume is almost constantly maxed out. If done correctly I’d be very happy, but it often results into distorted sound and this isn’t the quality I want to publish. Does anyone else noticed the change in behavior and the has the same issue with it? And more importantly, does anyone have a solution for it?
Hi, can you describe how you have your gains set? What level are you pushing the channels to?
I’ve been recording on my prime 2 for a long time with no issues at all, even on recent firmware.
In 4.0.0, the recording level was increased by 8dB on the Prime 4 and we couldn’t disable it. Do you have that version? Luckily, 4.2.0 just released and the boost is now removed! So if you haven’t updated yet, I would recommend to do that

Thanks guys, levels were at all times well under 80% in the channels, well under 50% on the master. The 8dB gain makes sense and after recording with firmware 4.2.0 I noticed the change in recording volume which seems to show the change that @Kwarkgebak mentioned. So happy again over here!
