Recording to IPhone direct from Mixer

Hi.

Just wondering has anybody successfully done the above in good quality. If I was to purchase the apple camera adapter what 3rd party app would I need on the iPhone to record sets direct from mixer.

Would find this so much easier rather then using the PC/Mac with Audacity or FL Studio. It’s a shame there is no record feature on engine DJ either

You can try using the DJM-REC app from Pioneer, they have a 30day free trial. I have heard that it works also with non-Pioneer mixers. There is not a lot of info on how to use it so it might be difficult to set it up with x1800/1850 (you might need to set the mixer to broadcast mode or set the FX to send/return) but as I said, it’s free for 30days, you have nothing to loose.

GarageBand also works and is a free solution. Can even record all 4 inputs on my xone 96 and 2 sends/1 send + master simultaneously (use whatever the build in sound card provides).

What mixer are you using? Denon?

For recording directly to iphone or stream thru iphone (video calls, facebook instagram etc) If your mixer has record out or booth out or master 2 out, you can get Y cable (1/4” L+R to 3.5 aux jack) then you’ll need TRS to TRRS (rode sc4) to be able to record in iphone. But it is little hard to not clip. So you should use an app like @SlayForMoney said DJM-Rec. it works I’ve used it many times. But at the moment I’ve been using Evermix mixbox. Check out their website you’ll get the information. Also with Y cable you can buy a recorder and record directly into it (ie. roland R-07) but for me evermix made it easier and no need to use a laptop to manage files or store it. Unless you want to do a little mastering you can always add into daw after each case…

Thanks for reply and helpful information guys will look into these options.

I’m using the Denon X1850 and was under the impression the CDJ app didn’t work with other mixers.

DJMRec app, cubasis, and algoriddim have worked for me.
