Hi Guys, A quick question. When recording my sets using a 128GB SD card after 4 hours it stops and starts a new session, so im left with 2 recordings ?? any idea why ? theres enough space to record an 8 hr set, but it is recording 2 x 4 hrs ???
Not sure, Serato does the same thing, its easy to merge them back together in Audacity though.
Strange as it never used to do it ??? 2 things i was asked 1. is your usb big enough capacity answer yes definately and 2 is it in fat 32 as that has apparently a capacity limit but answer i am in xfat, so i do not know you get no screen warning it just records in 2 sessions ???
Is the file system fat32?
If yes there is a file size limitation of 4GB and it is about 1GB per hour in file size when recording. Then if this is the issue then use exfat as format on your SD card/USB stick.
Hi I have always been on Xfat yet have the same problem ???
Now you mention it, I’ve recorded gigs on mine and never had the problem, definitely over 4hrs too. I’m using an SD card though, not sure if that makes a difference.
I have started a long recording test on my Prime 4+
Im using the latest update and im also using an elite pro sd 128gb ???
Yeah sounds weird definitely. I’ve 100% not had to merge any of my mixes from the Prime 2 and there are definitely some over 4hrs.
Yeah its been more of a recent thing and ive only tested on my Prime 2 as thats what i take to play out . . all i can do is next session try another x fat usb i have a sandisk 64gb easy enough space and just see, if it does it again then could it be settings ?? or id definately need to contact Denon to ask ? ? ? ?
The only thing I can think is are you using the normalise/volume correction after you stop? And is that splitting the tracks?
I have now tested a 5 hour recording and yes there is a split.
Then tested to merge the files in Audacity and it worked without problems.
Hi All - Recording is limited to around 4GB before rolling over to a new recording.
This is standard in audio tech products:
- Serato - WAV/AIFF formats are limited to a file size of 2GB with Serato DJ. If your recording exceeds this limit, it will continue to record your mix to a new file.
- XDJ AZ - You can record for approximately 90 minutes on a USB.
- Midas M32 mixing console has a limit of 2GB before rolling over to a new recording.
- Ableton has a recording limit of 2GB.
Moin @aaaguy and all concerned
is here any coherence? I have these originals still on stock and they are still factory sealed😇
