Rane System One Switched Off Mid-Set During Paid Event — Serious Reliability Concern

Hi Guys,

I am posting this because I have now experienced another serious issue with my Rane System One, and this time it happened during a paid event. This evening, while I was performing, the unit suddenly switched off mid-set. The dance floor was full, and all of a sudden the sound completely disappeared because the Rane System One had stopped working. I honestly could not believe it. I was using the unit with Serato DJ Pro because I was already concerned about using it in standalone mode due to the problems I have previously experienced. Unfortunately, even while using Serato DJ Pro, the unit still failed during a live performance. To get everything working again, I had to turn the whole system off and then back on. After restarting, I continued with the set, but I then noticed that the BPM appeared to speed up and slow down on its own. This made me even more concerned because this kind of behaviour is very risky during a professional event. For context, this is my second Rane System One. I purchased the first unit on 21/06/2026, and it was replaced on 28/06/2026 after becoming faulty. This replacement unit is now also giving me serious problems. I am very familiar with the Engine DJ ecosystem because I also use Denon SC6000s, so I am not new to this platform. However, I am really struggling to trust the Rane System One at the moment, especially for paid events where reliability is extremely important. Has anyone else experienced the unit switching off unexpectedly during use, or the BPM speeding up and slowing down by itself? Is there any known fix, firmware issue, power-related issue, or hardware fault that could cause this? Any advice from Rane, Engine DJ, or other users would be greatly appreciated, because I have events lined up and cannot risk this happening again.

Hey DJ_Sao_Tao,

i’m sorry to hear that. i saw one other post on this forum about an issue on a prime4+ suddenly shutting down. i have a prime4+ myself without any issues but reading these posts about gear shutting down scares me. i hope it will neven happen to my gear. i’m curious if you can fix it and will be monitoring these posts. have you tried reverting back to old firmwares yet? please keep us posted.

I think many of the issues with Prime 4+ that I saw on his forum and Reddit, were narrowed down to either overheating or power, memory physical connection issues. I remember them because I had just invested in a Prime 4+ when the topics came up.
