Rane System One on-board stems?

This is where respectfully we’ll have to agree to disagree.

My son is an application Software Developer for a worldwide company providing digital ecosystems for the maritime industry. I asked him if he were running a project that had a deadline of “early 2026” when would it be due. His answer was nowhere later than the end of Q1.

That’s really the only answer needed

With all due respect to your son. I imagine he’s really good at his job, and whatever he says has zero bearing on the situation. Full stop.

I’ve worked for many companies & industries over my career, with the exception of the entertainment industry. One thing that is a constant is that deadlines don’t always get met. Software is some of the most complicated stuff that humans (and now AI) do.

Anyone can argue this till they are blue in the face.

Mojaxx doesn’t seem to be having any issues…

“After 3 months of use in the field, I’m still head over heels, and can say that if Rane try and take their SYSTEM ONE back now, they’d best be ready to fight me”

(from Instagram)

I suspect he’s just playing EDM tracks from one drive in a sequence as a lot of these guys do. I’m open format and a lot of my issues arise from using the prep list (which he probably doesn’t do that often as he probably doesn’t take many requests), swapping sources between Engine drives and streaming and searching a lot. It’s easy not to see bugs when you’re doing basic DJing all from the same songs and folder all the time. I never noticed anything when playing around at home, the issues only happened when I’m doing a live gig on a busy night with a lot of people.

Do you even know what MoJaxx plays? O P E N F O R M A T.

Edit: Hey it’s the next day. Your account is still active.

It said 24 hours. Won’t be long now.

Oh. Now you know how timelines work.

I saw a few people mention that this deck has so many bugs to be fixed, which bugs out of curiosity?

I have used the unit on 405 gigs and it’s solid as can be, I have a few personal quirks in the system but they are not bugs, just personal preferences. I have used Pioneer for 20 or so years and this is the first time sticking with a Denon/Rane unit so this is not fanboy’ism on either company, Im new to this side and love the unit. I use it strictly standalone, not with Serato

Ones that instantly come to mind:

1 - Prep list bug. Leave a track in the prep list then go back later to play and it won’t load, meaning you need to search for it all over again then load it. 2 - Scroll bug. If you’re in the split mode where the playlists are at the top and songs at the bottom, when you start scrolling the songs it expands to full screen but goes back to the very top of the list. A bit bugging if youre sorted by BPM and around 130 as it goes right back to the top eg 70pbm and you need to scroll all the way down to get to where you were. 3 - Losing it’s place when switching sources. Say I’m in a specific playlist in Engine then I move to Tidal and search a song and add it to the deck or prep list, when I switch back to Engine it goes back to a different playlist and place so I then have to find the playlist I was working in again. 4 - Track being removed from prep list when loaded to a deck. Most other software removes the track once it’s played, but Engine removes it on load. Apparently by design but really bugging.

It’s not showstoppers obvioulsy but if you’re doing a busy gig you just want things to work properly. Everyone’s workflow is different so many may just not have experienced these issues.

Regarding the first point… I haven’t had this problem with my R.S.One yet; it hasn’t happened to me in a long time, even with my P4+ or my PGO. Perhaps the problem is related to having more than 4 or 5 songs waiting?

Regarding the second point, you’re right, there is indeed a behavioral issue.

Regarding the third point, I won’t comment because I don’t use a streaming platform.

Regarding the fourth point, I think it’s a feature request that should be added.

  1. I use prep list a lot and have not had this issue, he issue with prep list is if toy swipe to load it actually removes the track from the list so if you’re playing all night swiping tracks in and then go to prepare list and swipe, its gone, u have to load via the knobs
  2. ill have to see, never noticed
  3. I don’t chase sources, play off 1 drive so haven’t noticed
  4. yes, thats annoying!!! happened to me last night, loaded it and said nah not yet but then I had to search and add to prepare again for later when needed

So, just so you know… I’m not just a customer! I’m a reseller for a chain selling sound, lighting, and DJ equipment, so I need to have knowledge of what we sell and what I have on hand.

This means knowing what the product can and can’t do before it goes on the shelves, and also knowing what to recommend to users regarding hardware and software specifications. I also need to be able to indicate the minimum technical specifications required for the software to function properly (OS version and hardware performance: CPU/RAM).

This will allow me to answer relevant questions from future users, whether they’re amateurs or professionals (customers aren’t familiar with all the products!). And I need to be able to guide customers toward the product that truly meets their needs; we can’t just rely on reading the product’s key features, which are often minimal.

To summarize, upon receiving a new one, we will take the time to read the instructions; this will allow us to be credible during our demos, in the absence of marketing managers or demonstrators from a particular brand available.

Wasn’t it leaked by a grainy photo from a Guitar Centre? Probably why it was brought forward, to seize control of the narrative. I found they played it just right with that they had and the hype was fantastic.

TBT, Bought System one when it launch and it was advertise to include Djay pro support early 2026 which is {Jan-April ) yeah still waiting. I’m so EXTREMELY disappointed with engine DJ that I gave up even trying, because it lack so many basic function when compare to Djay pro. My system one is literally sitting there unused since I got it. So yeah it’s very frustrating when stuff is advertise and doesn’t get delivered. Then you wonder why customers complain, it’s easy to defend the lack of Rane system one support when your on the inside looking out (beta testers) than when your on the outside looking in (Regular customer)

@Kevnice

  1. Why buy an all-in-one player to use with a computer? I never understand, knowing that we all know a standalone player won’t have all the features found in DJ software due to hardware limitations (processor, RAM).

  2. Rane/Engine DJ are not 100% responsible and they don’t own Algoriddim DJAY Pro, so contact them directly.

Here’s what I found:

Moin,

I’m running a service ticket with inMusic since November 2025 in this matter. They will take care for this issue at their earliest convenience.

Phps solved within the next update? :innocent:

btw.: This feature is one of my most used functions.
