Questions regarding workflow on Prime Go+ player

Hey all, I’m a long term VDJ user and got the Prime Go+ with the intention of using it standalone for some of my gigs in the future.

I gave it a run yesterday and simulated one of my pub gigs and there were a couple of things I couldn’t figure out compared to using VDJ.

1 - The cue button. In VDJ if I have a saved hotcue, once pressed the main cue button stores that as the cue point and goes instantly back to that set cue until changed. In Engine OS it doesn’t do that and the cue button seems to act independently of the hot cue selected.

2 - Loops. In VDJ, I can press a set loop button to enable an 8 beat loop, then when I press the hotcue it automatically starts with the loop active from the cue point. In Engine, I can press the loop encoder to enable a loop with the track cued but then pressing the hotcue to start playback cancels it. It seems to work when the play button is pressed however as above that uses the cue button position rather than the hotcue position.

Can anyone please help with these niggles, probably just a setting somewhere although I did have a look and a quick read of the manual.

This would need a feature request.

It currently does it for loops as an optional setting. I suppose they could add an option for hotcues as well.

I’d be happy using the hotcue buttons independently but when pressed they cancel the active loop.

Is there a way to have a loop start when the hotcue button is pressed?

No. I think there is a feature request for it already if I’m not mistaken.

I use a similar feature in Serato called CUELOOP. I use it to jump to a hotcue and trigger a loop based on the current loop size.

It’s quite handy especially when trying to trigger a loop from the very top of the song when mixing out.

Ah OK it seems like a complete oversight.

Maybe I’ve just got used to it in VDJ so expected it to be on the Prime players too.

I still don’t really understand the behaviour of the cue button either.
