I use all my MP3 and AIFF files on my hard drive, but I’m considering using a streaming platform for requests at weddings, creating a list of about 100 songs with requests from the guests and putting them on at a certain time. it is more comfortable?
that is, being able to download them during the event, create a list, be able to play them offline, save the track list, edit hotcues and grid…etc…
I would like to know your opinion, with the pros and cons of each one, Thanks in advance.
I’m a tidal user. I could be wrong but I don’t think you can create a playlist on the device using downloaded music. You also wont be able to play the songs offline, you’ll have to be connected to wifi or a hotspot. The only data that caches on the device is hotcues and grids. I think Tidal is worth the money though. having the option of playing anything is huge.
Seconded. There’s no downloading (other than streaming to cache when loading) and no offline playback.
One workaround might be to use the service on your mobile device, which does allow downloading for offline playback, then feed the signal in via a suitable cable.
If that’s the best option, I’ll still use Spotify on the phone with a cable to a channel…I was hoping that with tidal, soundcloud…it will work better from my Prime 4, at least the soundcloud or beatsource offline mode, on an event I can share data with the mobile to create the list, but not all night… that’s why I wanted to use the offline mode, to have the songs downloaded and not need internet during the session.
