I use my Prime Go+ in a venue that is a wiring nightmare. The DJ box is such a mess with cables I wouldn’t know where to start and there is only ever one spare 13A socket. There must be a hundred things plugged in there but I’ve never had any issues with stuttering and pausing until Engine 4.3
I didn’t notice any major issues until the weekend just gone i was at my residency and the beat grids even though the music was on beat the grids (set correctly) were not lining up it was like the incoming song was a beat or two off but by the time of the drop it has caught up sound wise it was fine very strange as initially i thought i was seeing things. I managed to get through my set thankfully, i tested it again yesterday it seemed to be working normally my sc live 4 has been pretty reliable really impressed with it.
What controller do you have. If a Prime Go, try running on battery.
For me when searching for a cause for a problem is go back to minimum and start adding again.
So disable all streaming / dropbox, disable SoundSwitch, bluetooth, wifi etc.
There is also sample tunes does it happen with those as well? If so the unit is probably kaput, moisture or something else.
Then add SD-Card or USB stick (you can check if you computer can play songs all right from the stick directly without stuttering if not then USB stick has some issue (they don’t last forever)
Then keep adding services / options untill the problem appears…
Unfortunately I have experienced this same type of issue at a venue. Sc5000s work fine at home but the one venue I get weird gremlins, have to reboot sometimes. Player acts like someone presses stop and music quits. But I press play and it starts back. One time mixer was making unusual audio artifacts and volume wasn’t right. Had to reboot it and then it was fine for a bit only to happen again. When using them at home and other venues I have had no issues at all. Not sure what’s happening at the one venue but it’s the only place I have problems.
I need to try that I have an event there this coming June. I was thinking about a power conditioner but online reviews are mixed as to whether they are snake oil or not
So the last time I had issues, I plugged into a 4 bank socket that was already there at the bar. This socket also had a phone charger and cable plugged in that was trailing on the floor.
Since then I’ve plugged my Prime 2 directly into the wall and only plugged the monitor into that socket, or I unplugged it all and used my own surge protected 4 gang socket that I bought and carry with me, I’ve never had issues with that.
If someone is buying those extensions for £3 from a local poundstretcher or wherever, they are going to be absolutely the lowest quality item possible, and probably skirting just above the legal requirement for meeting whatever standard your country sets. You’re better off having your own good quality power source then you have control over it. Your house is likely wired up far better than a bar or club will be, I used to play a busy venue on an outside terrace who had a 30 metre long extension cable from the plugs that a till was connected to right round a wall to the DJ booth, it was flaky as hell.
Yes, exactly. If we could “hear” electricity … with pure, clean, good connectivity being silent power then … all those cheap phone chargers, tatty 4 gang extension leads, silly flashing USB memory sticks, fans on goosenecks etc , would all be screaming like banshees - and some of that scream would be making its dirty way back up through cables to all other devises on the venues ring main
Yes and me the same but I play first time on new village , and I have big problem and I thing after many testing the problem on this village is ground when I go second time there to play party I write to you if there I have the same problem .
When I play at home or another village I don’t have any problem. Everything is good
I thing the problem is ground on village but I must test it second time.
The issue you are describing here sounds like a different bug, look at this topic to see if this is what’s actually happening: Engine OS 4.3.1 - visual drifting of beatgrid
If so, then software downgrade from version 4.3.1 to 4.2 will fix it
